Constantine Fire Department

On May 30, 2026 at approximately 11:33 pm, the Constantine Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire in the 13000 block of Riverside Dr. In Constantine Township. The fire was reported by a neighbor who saw the fire and notified 911.

Arriving crews found the exterior of the south end of the structure engulfed in flames and spreading into the attic area. An aggressive attack brought the fire under control within 10 minutes of the first arriving engine.

Firefighters from Station 3: Fabius-Park Townships Fire Department and White Pigeon Township Fire Department assisted with overhaul and putting out hot spots.

The structure received extensive damage but all occupants were able to get out safely and no injuries were reported. St Joseph County Victims Services Unit was called in to assist the family.

We would like to thank deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, officers from the Centreville Constantine Police Department and St Joseph County Central Dispatch from their assistance.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time. Anyone with information on this or any other incident is asked to the Central Dispatch at (269) 467-4195.

At 6:21 pm on May 29th, Constantine Fire Prevention was dispatched to a reported out of control grass/brush fire. First arriving units discovered the fire had spread to an approximately 15 x 18 outbuilding. An aggressive fire attack brought the fire under control within minutes of the fire arriving engine. The outbuilding received moderate fire damage due to the fire. One civilian was treated at the scene by medics from LifeCare Ambulance. Centreville Constantine Police Department also assisted at the scene.

Please remember that any outdoor burning should be kept away from any structure and be attended at all times with a hose or other water source until it is extinguished.
