REMINDER: In the event of a tornado warning being issued for the village, the breezeway doors between the school and gymnasium will be unlocked and available to those needing shelter. Further, residents may also seek shelter at the village hall and/or fire station. Those sheltering in place, remember to either go to the basement or an interior room with no windows. Check to make sure your flashlights work and you have charged your cell phones if using it for the flashlight function. Finally, if you haven’t already, download the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office app for weather alerts. Code Red has officially expired and the PCSO app is the best way to get the most up to date watch/warning alerts. Stay safe and have a good evening!

A Tornado Watch has been issued until noon today (3/11/2026) for Putnam County. During school hours and in the event of a Warning being issued, residents who don’t have an interior room or basement, can utilize the village hall building if need be.

ALSO… Code Red is no longer being utilized. If you haven’t already, please download the Putnam County Sheriff Department app. This app will provide updates from the NWS, much like Code Red previously did. You can manage which alerts you receive from inside the app.

HIRING: The village is accepting applications & resumes for a full-time Maintenance Worker in our Water/Wastewater Department. The typical work week is Mon-Fri from 7:30-4:00. Some weekends and overtime is required. Special licensing is a bonus but no required. Willingness to be trained for licensing is also preferred. More details can be obtained from the village office at 419-596-3206.
