*SHARE* - Captain Anderson Memorial Service information -
Judson High School parking lot will be open from 7AM-9AM (or until full) for this Saturday's (August 29, 2020) memorial service honoring Fire Captain Anderson who tragically lost his battle with COVID-19 on August 18, 2020. The roads will be closed to the public at 9AM.
Parking attendants will be on-site at the two main "outside" entrances (see map below). General public parking will park nearest the stadium, and Emergency vehicles will park closest to Converse fire station 2. Attendees are instructed to tune their radio station to 1630 AM or listen through several social media live-streaming options. A large stage and local audio will be present.

The procession will begin at 9:15AM and proceed from Converse Fire Station #2 leading into the main Judson High School entrance (with the roundabout indicated with the blue line on the image below). CFD Chaplain will open with a prayer and introduce several speakers.

The service is approximately 1.5-2 hours and will end with the same procession marching back to fire station 2, followed by all emergency vehicles in attendance. The procession will turn on Lady Rocket Way and enter fire station 2, ALL OTHER EMERGENCY VEHICLES are instructed to continue to Loop 1604 and return to their respective departments. Converse Police Officers will open the general public parking and general traffic control.

It is important that we honor our fallen Fire Captain, and still maintain best practices in preventing any potential spread of COVID-19. Wear a mask, practice social distancing, stay in your vehicle, plan ahead and maintain hydration.

Thank you once again for your support, prayers and patience during this difficult time. More information will be provided in the coming days, please remain safe.

Please share to help spread the information.

The Lunch Bus will be outside the Library M-Th 11-12 next week. After that.....here's the information you need. Meals still available, but at the schools and you will pick bundles up on Mondays and Thursdays. Please read through this!!!

Judson ISD will continue to provide access to healthy, tasty meals for all students during the 2020-2021 school year. With the Summer Meal program ending on August 20th, on August 24th, we will return to the NSLP (National School Lunch Program). We will provide breakfast and lunch bundles on Mondays and Thursdays. Monday’s bundle will contain meals for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thursday’s bundle will provide meals for Thursday and Friday.

Families have two options for picking up meals. Curbside service will be available for those wishing to pick up their meal from a campus. The Transportation Department is partnering with Child Nutrition to deliver meals via bus routes. Campus curbside pick-up times and bus delivery times will be announced once scheduling is complete.

NSLP meals will be charged to students based on their eligibility of free, reduced-price, or full-paid. My Payments Plus is recommended for convenient, secure online payments. www.mypaymentsplus.com/. Lunch money can also be turned in to child nutrition workers during meal distribution, or at all school offices. We encourage you to bring exact change or consider depositing change in the student’s account.

Students should bring student ID card, student ID number, or official letter/email from the school listing the children enrolled at the campus
Parents or guardians may pick up meals for enrolled students without the student present, but need to bring the student’s ID card, student’s ID number, or official letter/email from the school listing the children enrolled at the campus
Only enrolled students will be served meals.

Questions? Please call 210-945-6720 for more information. We look forward to serving you. #JudsonISD #JISD

What happened to the streaming live of the Ballot position drawing?
Can you please explain to me why my bulk pickup items are still at my curb three weeks after bulk pick up should have happened?!?! We have now called three times only to be talked to in a condescending manner. We have palm branches that we put out for bulk pick up usually two or three times a year and every single time we have to call because they just skip over us when they see the branches. It is ridiculous! Our grass will now be dead in that spot. I’m extremely frustrated.

GRASP in Converse, Tx gives rides to VA Dr. appointments for $50.00 roundtrip, but I can use them local for PT for $10 roundtrip. So that is pretty cool!
I am disabled combat veteran, not a Purple Heart recipient, but wounded in combat and can not get transportation to Physical Therapy, so I can keep walking, and I can not get to my mental health appointments either. SA DAV RIDE (210) 486-1685 - never answer and never return calls, Salvation Army - (210) 352-2000 does not give rides, BEXAR AREA AGENCY ON AGING (AACOG / AAA) ALAMO CALL-A-RIDE 4 VETS (CARV) Phone: 210-362-5254 - Texas Vet Commission took this funding and gave it to El Paso, MilitaryWarrior.org - 210-615-8973 do not have funding and closed registration, Lyft gives free rides to homeless Veterans receiving assistance from SAMMINISTRIES. American Legion in Converse refers us to the Seguin VSO which means I would have to get transportation to Seguin in order to get a ride to my appointment. The Chief started a project helping Purple Heart recipients get help with their home repairs. I would like to help get transportation for disabled combat veterans in our city. Also, if I have missed any agency and anyone has information that could help me get to my VA appointments it would be very appreciated.
Keep up the great work. I appreciate the information that you provide to us in the community.
Anyone missing a grey and white pitbull near the Copperfield subdivision? Very friendly, no tags, clipped ears.
Shout Out to Judson High School - for being so ignorant that they took all seniors out to helotes from 2300 until 0600 - unaccompanied (other than staff) only to bring them back to the high school and require an ID card for them to get their diplomas. I guess Mackey the Lackey still has influence here after all! Your (Extremely High) JISD School TAX Dollars at work!! I am SO glad that they are not affiliated with the City - Thank GOD the City of Converse itself is run by intelligent people!!!
