Converse Animal Care and Facility is the government service and facility for the City of Converse and responsible for:
· Providing a safe humane shelter for unwanted, stray, abused, and impounded animals in accordance with state and city regulations in a cost-efficient and effective manner.
·Balancing the health, public safety, and welfare needs of people and animals.
·Enforcing animal related law

·Community outreach on responsible animal ownership.
·Investigating cases where animal care is questionable.
·Finding new loving homes for homeless animals at our shelter.

We know many of you have seen and are concerned about the stray dog who has been traveling through the City Park / FM 78 / Judson area over the past several months.

Please know they have been on our radar since December, and our team has been actively working to safely trap and bring into our care. They are very cautious, well-traveled, and have unfortunately been difficult to contain despite multiple trapping efforts.

We truly appreciate everyone who has called, messaged, shared sightings, and shown concern for their wellbeing.

If you see them, please avoid chasing or approaching, as this can unintentionally push farther away or make trapping more difficult. Sighting information is always appreciated.

Thank you for your patience, compassion, and continued support while we work to help this baby. ❤️

Mina has spent 336 days with us.

And if you’ve met her, you know something pretty incredible about her:

She hasn’t let that change who she is. She’s still affectionate. Still goofy. Still handing out hugs like they’re free samples.

Our Dog of the Week deserves more than “maybe someday.” We’d really like this to be her month. We think a girl this resilient deserves a couch, a family, and a lifetime of not having to wait anymore 🐶

All of the pups had a wonderful time meeting new friends, getting lots of pets, and soaking up the attention. Best of all, little Gizmo found his forever home! 🎉🏡
