Good morning, An update to yesterday afternoon's post: The NWS has adjusted the expected timeframe of the flood warning and increased the predicted height. The river is currently predicted to crest at approximately 9.5ft around 2pm this afternoon (Saturday). This adjustment should not change the expected impacts. Please avoid flooded areas, as rivers and streams will have dangerous, swift-moving currents. As always, these forecasts are the best predictions provided by the weather service and may vary. Please stay up to date with the latest watches and warnings.

Good afternoon

With the heavy rainfall expected overnight tonight and tomorrow, the river is predicted to crest just over flood stage Saturday morning at 9ft around 8am. We are expecting some minor flooding in low-lying areas, mainly into the fields and campgrounds along the river. Transvale Rd will also likely be flooded for a period of time. While NOAA is currently not predicting the river to rise much beyond the 9ft level, please watch the forecast for any changes.

We expect to see localized flooding of small brooks and streams.

Please avoid flooded areas and stay away from the rivers. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.

We will provide any updates if we get updated information.

US Forest Service will be conducting an additional controlled burn off West Side Rd today April 29th.

On April 28, White Mountain National Forest is conducting prescribed fire operations on the S**o Ranger District (Carroll County, NH, west of Route 302 and North Conway, NH). The targeted burn units are adjacent to the Dandiview, Birch Hill and Cedar Creek subdivisions. The area may close to the public for several days for public safety. Watch for warning signs along roads near all prescribed fire areas before and during burns. Residents may experience smoke during the prescribed burns. For more detailed information about air quality, go to AirNow online or download the app. When driving, slow down and turn on your headlights when you encounter smoke on the road. We will evaluate weather conditions in the hours before a burn begins. If conditions warrant, scheduled prescribed fire activities may be canceled.

Stay informed about the scheduled prescribed fires through the forest website, social media channels, and InciWeb, the interagency incident information system. We will notify county emergency management officials when burning begins.
