UPDATE: The bald eagle was found to have lead poisoning in its blood and was transported to a veterinarian that specializes in that type of rehabilitation in the Springfield area. After some tender loving care, the bald eagle was standing on its own and eating again.

The Conway Police Chief happened to be at the right place at the time. He and was able to assist Tom Ricardi, Birds of Prey, with this mature male bald eagle. The injured eagle was on Route 112 in Buckland. The Shelburne Sergeant got on scene quickly and watched the eagle drag itself from the center of the road to the field. Tom Ricardi easily captured the eagle and they transported it to the South Deerfield Veterinary Clinic for evaluation. 🇺🇸🦅

Conway Police and Fire responded to a horse who had fallen in his pasture on ice. Crews worked together to bring the horse back to his feet and got him safely back into the stable. Amazing team work and coordination between both police, fire, and neighbors to have a successful rescue.
