🎉 New Year’s is almost here! 🎉

Here we are still driving out of Faulkner County just to buy alcohol for the party. That’s money leaving our community and going to other counties.

Why should we spend our dollars elsewhere when local businesses could benefit?

😲Faulkner County folks: Did you know Arkansas has MORE dry counties than ANY other state in the U.S.? And yep—WE'RE one of them! No retail alcohol sales here in Faulkner (though private clubs and restaurants can serve with permits). Conway and the rest of our county have stayed dry since the 1940s. Crazy to think about in 2025, right? Faulkner residents: Where do you head for your favorites? Spill the tea (or the beer 😂) in the comments! 👇

Faulkner County has waited long enough. It’s time to go WET and allow liquor stores here. Surrounding counties are getting rich off OUR tax dollars while we drive farther and risk more DWIs just to buy what adults should be able to buy here. Restaurants and bars can already serve alcohol… so why are we still stuck in the past?

92 years ago today, America repealed Prohibition.

But in 2025, counties like Faulkner are still acting like it never ended.

We all know people in dry counties still buy alcohol. They just have to drive farther, spend money somewhere else, or rely on random workarounds. That doesn’t protect anyone. It just sends our tax dollars and local business opportunities out the window.

Dry counties don’t stop drinking. They stop growth.

Jobs, revenue, small businesses, local control — all of that gets pushed away by rules that were written for a completely different time.

If we trust adults to raise families, go to work, and vote, then we should trust them to buy a bottle of wine or a six pack in their own county without having to cross county lines.

It’s been 92 years since Prohibition ended. It’s time Arkansas finally caught up.

Change doesn’t happen until people demand it.

Arkansas can do better, and our counties should too.
