Law enforcement agencies from around the county came together today for the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Arkansas as the Flame of Hope made its way through Conway.

Each year in May, law enforcement officers from across the state come together for the largest Torch Run in Arkansas. The 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Arkansas officially began this week as officers and athletes carried the “Flame of Hope” through communities across Arkansas. The torches will ultimately converge tomorrow at the Arkansas State Capitol for the ceremonial Final Leg Torch Run.

Through programming in sports, health, education, and community building, Special Olympics Arkansas continues changing the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities across our state. Special Olympics Arkansas provides opportunities for more than 19,000 athletes and 16,000 volunteers in all 75 Arkansas counties.

The mission of the Law Enforcement Torch Run is to raise awareness and support for these athletes and the programs that empower them every day. Nearly 100 agencies and approximately 1,500 officers across Arkansas work year-round to support this cause, and we are proud to stand beside them in support of these amazing athletes.
