CONWAY PUBLIC SCHOOLS GIFTED & TALENTED

GIFTED & TALENTED REFERRALS ARE NOW OPEN

Fall Testing Cycle

Students currently in 3rd grade or above may be referred for Gifted & Talented consideration. A referral begins the evaluation process and does not guarantee identification.

A student may benefit from referral when they learn quickly and make meaningful connections, think deeply, creatively, or in unusual ways, show advanced reasoning, curiosity, or problem-solving, or need greater depth, complexity, or academic challenge.

No special preparation is needed. Gifted & Talented identification is based on multiple measures.

IMPORTANT DATES

Congratulations to Mrs. Gomez on receiving a Conway Public Schools Foundation Grant! 🎉💙

She’ll use the grant to add phonics games, board games, rhyming activities, sentence-building puzzles, and card games to her small-group rotations. These hands-on activities will give students fun, meaningful ways to practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English while building vocabulary, confidence, and communication skills.

We’re excited to see these new learning tools in action! 🧩📚🎲

Please help us welcome Mr. Carlos Albert to Courtway! 💙

Mr. Albert has been part of the Conway Schools family for eight years, serving in several different roles along the way. This year, he’s joining our Courtway team as our ISS Paraprofessional!

Outside of school, Mr. Albert enjoys basketball, classic cars, dogs, and spending time with his family. And here’s a fun fact—we’re still trying to wrap our heads around this one: his son has the same name AND the same birthday as him! 😄

We’re excited to have Mr. Albert as another important piece of our Courtway team! 🧩

A quick reminder for our Courtway car rider families! 💙

All car riders must be picked up from their designated locations:
• 5th grade: Cafeteria
• 6th & 7th grades: Safe Room

For safety, students are not allowed to walk across or off campus to meet vehicles. Students remain inside in a safe, climate-controlled area until our staff makes contact with their ride and calls them out. Our cameras also record the vehicles students enter as an added safety measure.

Help us continue to keep kids safe with strict compliance to this procedure. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Etters at 501-450-4832.
