Each semester, the Theta Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi holds many activities for its members including the following:

* Professional meetings at which accounting firms and organizations send representatives to share information about careers and current events in accounting;
* Service activities to the community and University; and
* Fun social activities with members, faculty, alu

mni, and accounting professionals. Members and pledges are expected to spend approximately 16 hours per semester on professional development and service activities while they get the opportunity to meet accounting professionals, make friends, and have fun.

BEAR CLAWS UP!
Congratulations to our Beta Alpha Psi chapter for being recognized by UCA's President and Board of Directors last week. UCA's Theta Lambda Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi received the CLAWS award (Celebrating the Lofty Achievements of our Wonders Students) for the creation of the Major is Right game show which has presented now to over 600 students and accounting faculty and won first place at a midyear meeting and the International Annual BAP conference. Izzy Saettele and Lucas Hayes accepted the award on behalf of the chapter last week, where they were recognized for the impact the Major is Right is having on the pipeline of accounting majors in Arkansas.

• Jing (Bob) Fang won the COB Research Award
• Connie McKnight won the COB Societal Impact Award
• Anthony McMullen won the COB Innovative Teaching Award
• Harrison Downs won the COB Impact by Staff Award
And Will Baker was recognized with a Service Award with Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence

Meet UCA Accounting's newest faculty member, Dr. Kent Hu. He got his PhD at Oklahoma State University and spent some time at Drake University. He joins UCA as an Assistant Professor of Accounting and will be teaching Intermediate Accounting II.

Congratulations to UCA's Beta Alpha Psi competition team (Lucas Hayes, Rebecca Gaither, and Izzy Saettele) who presented at the Beta Alpha Psi Annual Meeting in San Antonio. Their project won the Deloitte Best Practices competition in the Impacting Your Profession category. They were supported by Professor Ashley Phillips, Professor Connie McKnight, and UCA Theta Lambda Chapter members Jaxson Adams, Kaddie Bailey, Lakoda Caldwell, and Allie Wayne.
