Hwy 286 East Fire/Rescue

Hwy 286 East Fire/Rescue The Highway 286 East FD is an all volunteer department that was formed in 1979 in an unincorporated area of Faulkner County.

Our district starts at the east city limits of the City of Conway. We cover a suburban/rural residential area, with a growing number of businesses, churches, and day cares. We also cover a US highway, and an AR highway that are both heavily traveled daily. We provide fire supression, EMS first response, extrication, and minor technical rescue. We serve our citizens with a fleet of 2 engines, 1 tanker, 1 rescue, 1 heavy rescue, and 1 brush truck. We have 25 members with a command staff of 8.

UPDATE ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2025: DUE TO AN ABUNDANCE OF EMAIL REQUESTS, THE ORDER IS NOW FULL AND THIS OPPORTUNITY IS NOW CLOSED. FAULKNER COUNTY OEM WILL NOTIFY THOSE WHO EMAILED AS TO THE STATUS OF THEIR ORDERS!

Original Post: The Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management is providing free reflective address markers during the month of September! Reflective address markers help improve public safety by assisting first responders locate homes more quickly and efficiently during an emergency. All residents of Faulkner County, including residents within city limits, who have a valid address registered in the Faulkner County 911 Addressing Database, are eligible to receive a free reflective address marker. There is a limit of one address marker per residence.

The reflective address markers are being ordered in bulk. These markers are metal (same as county road signs), and they are reflective with a blue background and white lettering. There are no other color options or variations available. Only the marker itself will be supplied, and residents are responsible for purchasing hardware and installing the marker at their driveway themselves. Do not attach the marker to your mailbox unless your mailbox is located directly at your driveway.

Due to cost, only a limited number of markers will be ordered. Markers will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, to those who place an order. Orders will be accepted during the month of September ONLY. No orders will be accepted after the close of business on September 30. Orders will only be accepted when placed in one of the following routes:

For email orders to be valid, they must include all of the following: Name, Phone, Full Address, and Email Address; OR

The Highway 286 East Fire Department wants to provide a friendly reminder that we are currently under a burn ban. During a burn ban, open burning of any kind is unlawful and will not be tolerated. With that being said, we would like to encourage our residents to be mindful of several things. During the current conditions, some activities that are permitted by law still pose an incredible threat to our community. For example, improper disposal of cigarette butts and outdoor grilling can become a major problem very quickly. We urge residents to use extreme caution during these conditions, as resources are very limited. The Highway 286 East Fire Department responded to 9 calls for service in a 12 hour period today, March 19, 2025, 6 of which were related to negligent burning. We appreciate the cooperation of our residents going forward, as we remain under extreme conditions.

Faulkner Co. is under a burn ban until further notice. No outside burning will be allowed during this time.

Just a reminder, Faulkner County is still under a burn ban even though we received rain and should be getting more. If in doubt on if we are still under a burn ban, please check the Arkansas Forestry Commission website, or get in contact with your local fire department. The fire danger is still pretty high. Please be patient with the fire departments as we are keeping an eye out on the weather conditions in hopes that maybe this next round of rain will be enough to lift the ban. But until then, please refrain from burning.
