I want to take a moment to thank a family who stopped by with a much needed refrigerator donation. I’ll call him E since I didn’t get permission to share his name, but I think it’s important for people to see the amazing individuals working behind the scenes, people who are truly doing God’s work by showing up and serving families experiencing homelessness.
E arrived with his two teenage sons and a refrigerator that was desperately needed. It needed to be moved upstairs, and honestly, I had planned to leave it in the office until we could gather more volunteers. Those stairs are challenging, and getting large appliances up them is no easy task. But E was determined to get it upstairs, and his sons were eager to help. It was hard work. They encouraged each other, worked carefully, and together safely navigated that heavy refrigerator all the way into the apartment.
Moments like these remind me how blessed I am to witness so much goodness every single day. I am thankful for their generous hearts. Thankful for their willingness to serve. Thankful that God continues to provide exactly what is needed, often through the hands and hearts of incredible people. Thank you, E, and thank you to your two sons. Your donation, your hard work, and your kindness were such a blessing to our family and to all of us who were able to witness your generosity.
As the Executive Director of Phoenix Pass, I have the privilege of seeing acts of kindness and generosity every day, but moments like this never stop inspiring me. They are a powerful reminder that our community is filled with people who care deeply and are willing to step up when there is a need.
God is good, and He always provides. ❤️
