Conyers Police Explorer Post 2222

The purpose of the program is to provide experiences to help young people mature and prepare them to become responsible, caring adults.

The call to join the world of law enforcement often begins at an early age. Through the Explorers post, the City of Conyers offers youth the opportunity to explore many aspects of community policing. Explorers gain valuable life experiences through activities that encourage citizenship and community involvement. Explorers receive training in a number of law enforcement areas, including traffic sto

ps, self defense, handcuffing techniques, SWAT tactics and Georgia law. The Explorers also attend several competitions and an Explorer Police Academy in Montevallo, Alabama. The Explorers Post is open to youth ages 14-20. Explorers meet every Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Conyers Police Department Courtroom. 🌟 Competition Weekend Recap! 🌟

This weekend, three of our Explorer teams represented our Post at competition — and we couldn’t be more proud of them! 💪

Even though we didn’t bring home any trophies this time, our teams came back with something even greater: excitement, knowledge, and a renewed passion for their Post.

👏 Team 1 competed for their second time ever, while Teams 2 and 3 stepped up for their very first competition!

They gave it their all in the individual physical fitness test — tackling the standing long jump, seated power throw, deadlifts, and sprint-carry-drag — and then showcased their skills in multiple scenarios:

🚗 Traffic Crash & DUI Investigation
🧠 Mental Health De-escalation
🔍 Crime Scene Investigation
⚡ Active Shooter Response

Please take a moment to congratulate our Explorers when you see them for all their hard work, dedication, and teamwork. They represented our Post with pride and professionalism!

The Conyers Police Department is proud to announce that Explorers Post 2222 is gearing up for the Law Enforcement Explorer Competition at Dobbins Air Base on October 25, 2025!

This year marks a major milestone, our Explorers will be fielding three competing teams, a true reflection of their dedication, discipline, and teamwork. Each team has trained tirelessly to prepare for real-world law enforcement scenarios, leadership challenges, and teamwork-based on events that mirror the values and professionalism of our department.

These young men and women represent the future of law enforcement and the strength of our community. Let’s show them our support as they take on Explorer Posts from across the state! 💪

💙🖤 We are so proud of our Explorers! 🖤💙

Yesterday they competed in their very first competition, and they did an incredible job after only 8 months of training. Not only did they rise to the challenge in the categories they had prepared for, but they also stepped into events they hadn’t even trained in yet—and still performed exceptionally well. 👏

The most inspiring part was watching them pull together as a team—encouraging one another, problem-solving, and showing what true teamwork looks like. 🙌

This is only the beginning! We look forward to the next competition as our Explorers continue raising the bar and excelling in everything they learn. 🚀✨

🚨 Busy Week for Post 2222 & Club 2221! 🚨

Our Explorers had an action-packed week of service and fun! 💪

They proudly assisted our cadets during this year’s Junior Police Academy, helping with activities and supporting future law enforcement leaders.

To celebrate their hard work, they enjoyed a night out at the Atlanta United game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium — a well-deserved break and an unforgettable experience! ⚽🏟️

🎆 Conyers Police Explorers Post 2222 at Red, White, and Boom! 🇺🇸

We’re so proud of our Conyers Police Explorers Post 2222 for their outstanding work at this year’s Red, White, and Boom Festival in Olde Town Conyers!

These dedicated young leaders helped our officers set up for the event, warmly greeted guests as they arrived, and handed out blankets, festive 4th of July decor, and stuffed animals—while supplies lasted!

👮‍♂️🚨 Are you or someone you know between the ages of 13 and 20 and interested in a future in law enforcement? We are currently accepting applications for new Explorers! This is an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and serve the community alongside the Conyers Police Department.
