ATTENTION:
Customers that will be paying with a CREDIT CARD will be required to wear a mask. This is for my office only.
If you refuse to wear a mask, then you will need another form of payment. The service fee on a card is 2.49%.
This change starts today - December 8th.

Good Morning:
With the heavy snow and high winds, I have decided to close for today- Monday December 6th.
First big snow of the season. And the drifts are high. Although we need snow for waterlines before the temps drop, it makes for unsafe travel. I hear the roads are slippery and plows are out.
I would guess our State Patrol and emergency services have had a busy night. And that may be the case today with the high winds and snow blowing across area roads.
So, be safe out there if you need to do any traveling.
Check with other local offices if you need something before Wednesday.
I apologize for any inconvenience. Please share.

Update on Privacy Laws that affect all Offices:

We are no longer allowed to give information in regard to vehicles or DL over the phone. If you need information on your vehicle, only the vehicle owner can visit an office with proof of ownership to get needed information. Proof of ownership is your registration receipt or a copy of you title (not an insurance card).
You can still call to ask procedures, but not information that we need to look up in the MNDRIVE System. Be sure to hold on to all receipts and have them available if you are checking on any transactions.
And remember, the past procedures are different than current procedures. Come prepared. Save yourself multiple trips. We do not like to send customers away because our customers keep us in business. And, we don’t make the laws.
That little piece of paper with a plate # scribbled on it may not be helpful. Just call to see what is needed if you don’t get the bill in the mail.

Next week is Thanksgiving which is a State Holiday.
So you might want to check with your local office to make sure they are open on Friday.

The Cook License Bureau will be closed both days:

Thursday - Nov. 25th (Happy Thanksgiving)
Friday - Nov. 26th

FYI: I do try to do my appointments and non-business things on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Luckily, my training is once a month on those days. But, unless an emergency happens, all closures are on my answering machine. You might want to call before you come in…just to be sure.

Good Morning! This is a reminder that my office is still open on the following days:

Also - Thursday is a State Holiday so always good to call before making the trip to any office. The next couple of days look a bit stormy for some areas. I’ve seen totals from 5” to 13”. So if you plan on coming here Friday Nov. 12th - best to call first.

Reminder:
If you are picking up your tags or need a vehicle looked up for some reason? If the vehicle is in your name, bring proof of ownership - old cab card or receipt or copy of your title with current plate number/insurance and DL.
Yes, it used to be easy-Just look it up on the computer. With the privacy laws that we now have, things aren’t quite as easy as they used to be. But, coming prepared will save you extra trips.
Licensing the wrong vehicle can be spendy and time consuming to correct.
This may be handled a little differently at different offices but to avoid errors, this is required at my office.
I’m not talking about an insurance card, something from the State showing ownership. Proof of ownership. And be sure that the proof is for the vehicle you wanted looked up for registration or another transaction.
I understand, this can be frustrating but it’s the best I’ve come up with.
