The Future Ready Team was grateful to have Dr. Ramona Yarbrough speak with our Putnam County Middle College students today.
It was great to hear her genuine perspective on staying the course, even when that course takes a few unexpected detours. She shared how hard work, determination, and being open to those detours created opportunities she never expected.
Such a great message for our students as they begin navigating their own paths. Sometimes the unexpected opportunities turn out to be some of the best ones.

The 2026 Superintendent's Cup is in the books, and the trophy is going back to Upperman High School following a scorecard playoff. The tournament is a great team-building event where each school has a chance to submit a representative team to compete. Thanks to Golden Eagle Golf Club and Matt Manzaro for hosting and organizing the event. Events like this are not possible without community partners like McDonald's (Tim & Sandra Funderburk), Savor (Jay Albrecht), Happy Trails (Trey & Jessica Upchurch), and Irrationale Kitchen (Torey Hess). The Future Ready VITAL team were excited and honored to attend the Monterey High School Senior Signing Day on May 1st. It was a special day celebrating students as they signed their post-secondary intent to become enrolled, enlisted, or employed.

It was great to see representatives and partners from Tennessee Tech University, Volunteer State Community College, TCAT, and the military there to support our seniors as they take the next step in their journeys.

Congratulations to all of the students. Putnam County Schools is proud of your accomplishments, commitment, and the bright futures ahead of you. Good luck in all your endeavors!

Excited to be in Nashville today at the Tennessee STEM Innovation Summit, learning and exploring the future of CTE, STEM, and AI.

The conversations around integrating Problem-Based Learning with Career and Technical Education are powerful, partnered with AI is reshaping how we design instruction, engage students, and prepare them for real-world careers.

Jeff Corwin's message on conservation and the preservation of species across our planet was both powerful and timely. It was a great reminder that as we innovate and push forward with technology, we also have a responsibility to educate students about sustainability and protecting the world around us.

It’s an exciting time in education. The possibilities for creating meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that connect directly to workforce skills with real-world impact have never been greater.

Looking forward to bringing these ideas back and continuing to grow opportunities for our PCSS students.
