Putnam County Solid Waste The Putnam County Solid Waste Department is located at 1846 S. Jefferson Ave, Cookeville Tn 38506. to 3:30 p.m. All waste tires go the landfill.

Household garbage is collected at the various collection sites throughout the county. Brush is accepted at the Bangham collection site and the landfill. At the Recycling Center, cardboard, paper, plastic, glass, ferrous metals, electronics, motor and cooking oils, all appliances, and batteries are collected and recycled. lle Boat Dock Rd Baxter, Tennessee 38544. The hours for the landfill are Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. If the latex paint is COMPLETELY solidified in its container, it can be thrown in the compactor at any site with regular household garbage.

The Putnam County Solid Waste Department Independence Day Holiday Schedule will be as follows.
Friday July 3: Transfer Station and Convenience Centers will be open. Landfill, Recycle Center, & Household Hazardous Waste will be closed.
Saturday July 4: All Solid Waste facilities will be closed.
All services will continue normal operation hours on Monday July 6, 2026. Have a Safe and Happy Independence Day.
