One of our young readers went undercover with Kid Spy: Mac Undercover by Mac Barnett-and came back with some important intel! 👀

History Told by Someone Who Was There

This September marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks, and the Putnam County Library is honored to welcome local author and retired United States Ambassador Matthew S. Klimow for a special author event featuring his book, As the Pentagon Burned.

Ambassador Klimow brings a perspective few people can offer. On September 11, 2001, he was inside the Pentagon’s National Military Command Center, experiencing one of the most consequential days in modern American history firsthand.

During this program, he will discuss his book, share his personal account of that day, and offer insight into the events that shaped our nation and the world in the years that followed.

Join us for Read, Play, Grow, a special program designed for children birth to age 3 and their caregivers. Each week, we combine stories with intentional play to encourage early literacy, curiosity, social interaction, and important developmental skills- all in a welcoming library environment.

Want to learn the ukulele or keep building your skills? Join us today at the Cookeville Branch from 3:30 pm–4:30 pm for Ukulele Lessons! Whether you’re just getting started or have been practicing, this is a fun opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy making music with others.

🐶📚 Storytime Went to the Dogs! ✂️🐾

We had a paws-itively wonderful time celebrating National Dog Day at Story & a Craft! Our young readers enjoyed stories all about man’s best friend before putting their creativity-and folding skills-to work making their very own origami dog faces.

Activities like this bring together early literacy and hands-on learning, giving children a chance to listen, imagine, create, and practice following directions-all while having fun at the library! 🐕❤️

Want to join the fun next time? Story & a Craft happens every Tuesday at 10 a.m. Each week brings a new story, a new creation, and another opportunity for little ones to learn, explore, and make memories at the library. 📖🎨
