🥫🍅 What an Incredible Turnout for Our Lunch & Learn! 🍅🥫

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Lunch & Learn: Canning Goods & Canner Lid Testing with Michelle Parrott from UT Extension!

It was wonderful to see so many community members eager to learn about safe home canning, ask thoughtful questions, and take advantage of the free dial gauge canner lid testing. Whether you're a seasoned canner or just getting started, we hope you left feeling inspired and confident.

Programs like these are a great reminder that the library is more than books-it's a place to learn new skills, connect with experts, and share knowledge with your community.

🍗What a delicious afternoon with Jamie Lankford! 🍰✨

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Cooking with Jamie Lankford! Participants learned how to make crispy Buffalo Wings and a festive Red, White & Blue Tiramisu, picking up new tips and techniques along the way.

It was wonderful to see such a great turnout and so many smiling faces enjoying the class, asking questions, and creating tasty dishes together. Programs like these are a great reminder that the library is a place to learn new skills, meet new people, and have fun!

A special thank you to Jamie's Eats and Sweets for sharing your time, talent, and passion for cooking with our community. We hope everyone left feeling inspired to recreate these recipes at home! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳💙

🌺🦖 DINOSAUR INCIDENT REPORT #47: Someone booked a tropical vacation… using the library’s budget. 🌴☀️

We left for the evening and returned to find the dinosaurs living their best island life.

🏝️ Palm trees? Check.
🌺 Flower leis? Check.
🍹 Beach vibes? Check.
🍌 Bananas scattered everywhere for reasons we can’t explain? Also check.

The Velociraptors have started a beach volleyball league, the Triceratops is hula dancing like nobody’s watching, and one dinosaur has been lying in a lounge chair for three hours insisting it’s “recharging its scales.” 😎

Meanwhile, the T. rex skeleton has refused to come back to work until someone brings it a piña colada with extra cherries. We tried reminding it that it’s a skeleton. It did not care.

Library staff attempted to intervene, but the dinosaurs simply handed us a tiny seashell and said,
“Out of office. Try again after vacation.” 😂

At this point, we’re just waiting for them to ask us to install a lazy river through the nonfiction section.

🦖🪩 🚨 MONDAY MORNING EMERGENCY UPDATE 🚨 🪩🦖

We have no idea what happened over the weekend, but the dinosaurs have officially unionized against Mondays.

Instead of easing back into the workweek, they:
🕺 Started a disco.
🎶 Put DJ Rex on the turntables.
💿 Dug out CDs that haven’t been seen since 2004.
✨ Covered the place in glitter and confetti.
🦕 And somehow convinced the Triceratops that it could win a limbo contest.

Meanwhile, the Velociraptors have formed a dance crew, the Stegosaurus refuses to leave the dance floor until someone plays “YMCA,” and the T. rex skeleton is standing in the corner wearing sunglasses like it owns the club. 😎

We tried telling them it’s Monday.

They told us “Rawr means party on.” 🎉

At this point, we’re just hoping they clean up before storytime… but we’re not optimistic. 😂

Stop by the library this week and see what prehistoric nonsense they’re up to next. If you hear disco music coming from the stacks, mind your business. 🪩🦖
