We apologize for any inconvenience, but all Putnam County Library locations will be closed on Friday, May 15th for staff training. The Cookeville location will be back open on Saturday, May 16th. In the meantime, check out all of our digital resources on Hoopla and Libby: you can access thousands of books at your fingertips.

The Cookeville branch has some super cool upcoming events for teens and adults and we would love for you to join us. All of our programs are free and open to the community. The Cookeville branch library isn't the only one getting extra special attention right now. Check out the incredible mural at Algood Branch Library by Ellie Batson. Now even the walls have a beautiful story to tell, thanks to her amazing work. And a BIG thank you to the Putnam County Master Gardeners Cookeville! They are helping the Monterey Branch Library get some much needed landscaping love. We are so proud of our libraries in Putnam County and hope that you are, too. Thank you to our community volunteers whose gracious gift of time makes the library more beautiful and welcoming for everyone.

Hey library lovers, it's Olive and today is my BIRTHDAY! I am 2 years old and I am feeling very wise after reading this new book I checked out at the library. Let me tell you, I have never felt more seen! This Pigeon, he gets it. He did not want to share. I do not want to share. He has big feelings. I have big feelings. I always thought I was difficult and a 'resource guarder', but it turns out I'm a PROTAGONIST! This book has taught me that literature can be a window to your soul. I am not a bad girl, I am just a deeply complex literary character. Not to get too intense on Facebook, but if a book can make this incredibly stubborn Bloodhound reflect on her life choices, then I know it can do the same for you. I highly recommend stopping by the children's library and checking out some new books. You might just see yourself in the pages. Remember, today is my birthday and I love special birthday wishes.
