Next Tuesday, our doors open for the 2026 Senior & Caregiver Expo, presented by UCDD and the Upper Cumberland Area Agency on Aging and Disability (AAAD). This year, we’re tipping our hats to Nashville with our theme, Welcome to Resource City—bringing together dozens of essential community organizations, healthcare partners, and support programs from across all 14 counties under one roof.

Whether you are looking for local services to help you stay independent at home, or you are caring for an aging parent or loved one, this event is built to connect you with the answers you need.

Are your prescription medication costs changing next year? You don’t have to navigate your Medicare options alone.

Starting next week, our team is hosting free, unbiased Medicare counseling events across our 14-county region to help you compare Part D Prescription Drug Plans and find coverage that fits your needs.

Key Enrollment Windows to Remember:

Oct. 15 - Dec. 7: Medicare Open Enrollment (The best time to review and update your Part D drug coverage)

Jan. 1 - Mar. 31: Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment (Those enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan can compare and switch options)

Important Event Details:

Appointments are required for all in-person county locations and will be scheduled until the event reaches capacity.

Can’t make it in person? We offer flexible assistance! You can complete your counseling over the phone, virtually, or by mail.

Big things are taking shape behind the scenes for the 2026 Senior & Caregiver Expo! 🤝✨

Today, our UCDD and AAAD teams met with our event vendors and sponsors to coordinate the final logistical details. We walked through space configurations, accessible floor plans, and comprehensive emergency readiness procedures to make sure our guests have a safe, welcoming, and seamless experience.

Champion our region’s communities, local businesses, and municipal partners as a Tourism Recovery Coordinator at UCDD! 🌄✨

We’re looking for a community-driven marketing professional to support local governments and chambers of commerce across all 14 counties. In this role, you’ll help tell the story of the Upper Cumberland, promote our regional destinations, and support local economic recovery efforts.

What You’ll Do:
• Partner with local leaders and chambers to promote regional tourism and economic recovery
• Conduct audits of tourism assets and gather regional promotional content
• Assist with tourism marketing campaigns, branding, and grant administration
• Serve as the primary regional point of contact for tourism outreach

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field (relevant experience considered)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with state or federal programs
• Familiarity with the Upper Cumberland tourism landscape

Imagine coming home from the hospital, still weak, with no family or friends nearby to help with basic daily tasks.

That’s the heartbreaking reality for many seniors right now in the Upper Cumberland. Our older population is growing much faster than the local funding and manpower needed to support them.

This is leading to long waitlists for essential in-home care—and staggering out-of-pocket costs for families trying to hire private help, which can reach up to $25,000 a month.

Local agencies are doing everything they can to help our aging neighbors keep their independence safely at home.
