Meet Ty Walker, GIS Specialist

Here’s a little Q&A to get to know Ty better!

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from?
A: I’m originally from Michigan, but I moved to Crossville with my family in 2004. I’ve called the Upper Cumberland home ever since and earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tennessee Tech.

Q: What was your path to the Planning and Community Development team?
A: I first met Chuck Sutherland while I was in college. When he moved into a different role, he reached out to me about an opportunity with UCDD, which ultimately led me to joining the PCD team.

Q: What inspired you to pursue this specific role?
A: My background is in GIS, and this role allows me to apply those skills while continuing to grow professionally and take on new challenges.

Q: Is there anyone you’d like to thank for helping you reach this milestone?
A: I’d like to thank Mark Dudney for his support, guidance, and encouragement. He has consistently challenged me to grow and helped steer me in the right direction.

Q: What is your goal with this chapter?
A: My goal is to keep learning and developing new skills. There’s always something new to learn, and I want to continue growing both personally and professionally.

Thank you, Ty, for your dedication and all the hard work you put in every day! We’re so grateful to have you on our team and truly appreciate everything you do! 👏 🩵
