Local News Update: The Mexia News published Coolidge ISD's latest official accountability ratings today. Below is the article in its entirety:

CISD Rated 'B' District By Mitchell Pate, Staff Reporter. Coolidge ISD scored an overall 84 to be rated a 'B' district for the 2026 Texas Education Agency (TEA) ratings. When asked what the ratings mean for his district, CISD Superintendent Dr. Robert Lowry said, "That is a complex question. However, I believe the current accountability system gives us all a snapshot of how a district and its students are doing on a particular day. The new accountability system that contains multiple tests across a school year will give a much better analysis of student growth rather than looking at cohorts from year to year. The new accountability system is set to roll out in 2027. This year, CISD's overall rating is a (B). We use it as a tool to help redesign instructional focus and provide targeted support for students. Ultimately, our goal is an A rating each year. So, until we achieve that mark we will not be satisfied." Coolidge Elementary is a 'B' campus with an overall score of an 85. They received three distinction designations — Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Academic Achievement in Science, and Postsecondary Readiness. Coolidge High School scored an 86 overall to be a 'B' campus. When asked what plan is in place for this year to possibly see more growth, Lowry said, "We are focusing on touching each kid. Growth charts are visible, data conversations happen daily, and student growth is our main focus this year. Our expectation is 'First Class; nothing less'. So, until we reach an overall rating of A again, we will continue to strive to meet that goal by keeping pressure on everyone involved to grow each student." Lowry noted that CISD will continue to strive to be the best and produce the best. "We expect our students to be successful, be disciplined, hard workers, and most importantly respectful young men and women," Lowry said. "We will not accept anything less."

The Junior High Jackets battled hard last night in their home season opener against Rockwall Heritage. While they came up short on the scoreboard, the Jackets showed determination and fought through the night.

We’re proud of our Jackets and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and compete this season!
