Then after the kids were finished creating their biodegradable "pots" they took decorative paper and folded a heart in such a way that it created and envelope to hold extra seeds to take home to their yard/garden to plant. Here are some pics of that. Thanks for coming!

To kick off our Summer Reading activities around our theme "Plant a Seed, Read", Thursday was a day to make toilet paper tube seed "pots" which are pots made out of toilet paper tubes by cutting/folding the end of the tube, filling it with potting soil, then planting seeds in it. The kids assembled the "pots" then took them home to plant in the ground and watch the different kinds of flowers grow and bloom--marigolds, zinnias, and wildflowers.
