Are you interested in a special sneak peek at the new Guest House before families move in this July? Here’s your last chance for a private tour before families arrive!

So far, we’ve had dozens of open house events so community partners and congregations can tour the new space and learn more about the Family Promise approach to serving families experiencing homelessness. If your group would like a private tour, please message us or call to schedule. Self-guided tours will also be available at the Grand Opening event on June 23.

We are thankful for amazing kids who care!

Etta organized a donation drive at Eisenhower Elementary to help stock Kathy's Closet. Her class really came through, and their support will help many families with daily essentials like toilet paper and hand soap. Thanks for making it happen, Etta!

Thanks to Andy, Tim, and Peter, we have a TV donated and professionally installed in our new community room at the Guest House! They sourced the monitor and came in on their weekend to get it set up. This will help support our education nights, allowing us to show videos or display presentations to families. It will also give us more options for other activities and events at the Guest House.

Why do families experience homelessness? There is a myriad of factors, and all of them point to systemic issues, not personal failings. One of the largest contributors to family homelessness is the lack of livable wage jobs. More than ever, wages simply do not keep pace with the expenses of food, housing, utilities, transportation, childcare, and medical care.

In fact, a new report from Dayforce and the Living Wage Institute found that just over half of full-time workers earn enough to provide for themselves and their families. That’s down five percentage points compared to four years ago.
