The next Sexy Senior Dumpster Cleaners Highway cleanup will be on Wednesday, May 27th. Meet at Sunrise at 10am for the required safety briefing. Bring your own gloves & trash pickers if you have them and wear sturdy shoes. Bags and vests will be provided.

CLSCCI & the Sexy Senior Dumpster Cleaners can use your help running the softball concessions on Monday, June 1st. We need someone a couple of folks on the grill, 2-3 in the kitchen and someone on the till for each game/shift.

Game 1 shift is 6pm-8pm & Game 2 shift is from 8pm-10pm. Please comment on this post or text 597-7055 if you can help out, or the signup board will be at Wildman's in the gallery.

Quarterly General Membership Meeting & Potluck Tuesday, May 12th.
Potluck 6pm and Business Meeting around 6:30pm.

The presentation will be Clayton Family History on the Kenai Peninsula from the 1940s Forward. CLSCCI Board president Al Clayton (and maybe his sister Maraley) will be presenting slides and commentary on early Clayton activities including the arrival of Al Clayton Sr. and his mother in Seward in 1935, trucking, power plant operations in Seward, nursing work at the Seward Tuberculosis San, and related adventures.

Thank you ConocoPhillips for your generous contribution to the repair of the pavement at Snug Harbor Senior Haven Apartments! Not only are our senior residents and visitors able to safely walk across the pavement without fear of tripping and/or falling, our pavement is once again in compliance with AHFC. Your continued support is beyond appreciated and integral to our success.

COOPER LANDING SENIOR CITIZEN CORP. INC MEETING SEPTEMBER 2, 2025

CLSCCI will meet Sept. 2, Tuesday evening at 6 pm in Helen Gwin Commons in Eagles View, Snug Harbor Senior Haven, for a potluck dinner, a general membership quarterly meeting, and a program.

Thanks to Ken Lancaster for providing the program based on his parents building and running Our Point of View Lodge overlooking Kenai Lake. From the 1955 opening until the lodge burned in 1976, it was a favorite destination for the view, the sunken rock fireplace, the cache in the front lawn and more. We will show the video by Paul Gray showing the lodge construction and working, other local history, and Ken as a busy teenager in Cooper Landing.

In 1973, Ken personally moved the first emergency services building from school property across the bridge to the CLES site. Later, when he was our state representative, Ken worked with the Sexy Senior Dumpster Cleaners.

CLSCCI members and all interested are invited to attend.

Are there folks available for callout when the transfer site is left messy, to run over there and do a quick clean up? The KPB is stopping the overnight locking which may lead to much bigger messes.
