Vivi proudly represented the Delta SWCD #443 and her Papaw, Franz Pittman, during the Father’s Day (or Grandfather’s Day 😁) dress-up day at Jolie’s Gym.

Franz dedicated 38 years to the SCS/NRCS and has served as the Delta County SWCD District Technician for the past 17 years.

We are grateful for his many years of service and his continued commitment to conservation in our community.

So far this year, 16 contracts have been funded.

After nearly 39 years of dedicated service to conservation in Texas, we congratulate Executive Director Rex Isom on his retirement. Since joining the TSSWCB in 1987, Rex has played an instrumental role in advancing conservation efforts across the state, ultimately becoming the agency's longest-serving Executive Director. His leadership, vision, and commitment to serving Texas landowners, conservation districts, and natural resources have left a lasting legacy that will benefit future generations.

Please join us in thanking Rex for his years of service and wishing him, Nancy, and their family all the best in this next chapter. Congratulations on a well-earned retirement, Rex! 🎉

On this day in 1939, the Texas Legislature established the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, laying the foundation for a statewide commitment to protecting the natural resources that sustain our farms, ranches, communities, and future generations.

For 86 years, the TSSWCB has worked alongside Texas’ 216 Soil and Water Conservation Districts, landowners, producers, and conservation partners to advance voluntary, locally led conservation across the Lone Star State.

As we reflect on this milestone, we honor the visionaries who came before us and remain committed to stewarding Texas’ soil and water resources for generations to come.
