It is a blessing to be able to serve our community. It is an even bigger blessing to have the overwhelming support of our community.

THANK YOU to all who sponsored, attended, and supported our annual Mother’s Day Spaghetti Luncheon fundraiser. It was once again a big success.

Always thankful for such a supportive community! Happy Mother’s Day to all!

The Cooper Fire Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Atmos Energy for their generous $2,500 donation to our department.

This contribution will be used to purchase a Sensit Gas Monitor, an important piece of equipment that allows our firefighters to quickly and accurately detect natural gas leaks. Having reliable gas detection equipment greatly improves our ability to protect our community, respond safely to emergencies, and ensure the safety of both residents and first responders.

Partnerships like this make a real difference in small communities like ours. We are grateful for Atmos Energy’s continued support of public safety and emergency services in Cooper and Delta County.

Delta County is now under an emergency burn ban for a period of 7-days, effective immediately by order of the County Judge, under the advisement of the County Fire Marshal. The Commissioners Court will review the status of the burn ban at a special meeting of the Commissioners’ Court on March 3, 2026 to determine if the burn ban will need to renewed, extended, or allowed to expire, with respect to the upcoming weather forecasts, fire danger, and drought index. The burn ban may be rescinded prior to the 7-day period by the County Judge, under advisement of the County Fire Marshal, if the conditions that prompted the issuance of the burn ban no longer exist.

A copy of the Order can be found at https://www.deltacountytx.com/media/5766.
