Lower Milford Township The official page for Lower Milford Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. This page is for informational purposes only.

Comments are not considered as correspondence to the Township. Lower Milford Township was incorporated in 1853 when the area was separated from Upper Milford Township. Prior to 1738, both Upper and Lower Milford Townships were part of Milford Township, Bucks County. The King’s High Road (King’s Highway) was surveyed in the mid 1730′s and immigrants began to settle in the valleys along the Hosensack Creek and its tributaries. Mills and other early industry began to flourish. The customs and traditions of the early, mostly German, immigrants remain evident in the historic homes, barns, mills and other structures so carefully preserved. Lower Milford is home to the first Preserved Farm in Lehigh County, and as of Spring 2013, there are 40 Agriculturally Preserved Farms totaling over 3,000 acres in the Township. Lower Milford has taken the step of enacting PA law Act 4 from 2006, along with Lehigh County and the School District, to freeze any Tax increases on Preserved Land within the community, thus thanking those property owners in a tangible way. Lower Milford continues to value and preserve its rural, agricultural roots in all aspects of planning.

Schultz Bridge Road will be temporarily closed to thru traffic due to a low-hanging wire over the roadway. Verizon has been notified of the hazard and has referred the matter to their construction division for repair.

The Office of Senator Coleman will be hosting a License Place Replacement Event for Lehigh County on Thursday, August 27, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Lower Macungie Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie, PA 18062.

This event provides residents the opportunity to have hard to read or damaged license plates replaced for free, with support from State Rep. Gary Day, the Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office, PA State Police, and Lower Macungie Township.

Free replacements are available for:
• Personalized registration plates
• Non personalized plates replaced with the next in series

Fees apply for:
• Non personalized plates if you wish to keep the same configuration
• The following PennDOT plate types:
– Standard issue plates
– Ex Prisoner of War (Ex POW) plates
– Disabled Veteran plates
– Severely Disabled Veteran plates
– Persons with Disability plates
