Some Taxpayers Have Questions About Tax Bills

It has come to our attention that some taxpayers have questions about their 2023 County/Town property tax bills.

These questions are coming from taxpayers who escrow their taxes usually as part of their mortgage payment. Some taxpayers with escrow accounts received a paper tax bill. This is a change from our normal practice.

While an electronic version of this bill was also transmitted to escrow companies, as is normally the case, some taxpayers may be uncertain if their escrow companies have the information they need to pay the taxes without penalty..

If taxpayers are affected by this change, they don't need to do anything with the paper bill they received. They may wish to keep it for their records. For peace of mind, you can always contact your escrow company to confirm that it has the information needed to pay your taxes on-time and without penalty.
