Name: George A. Knarich, 61 years old, New Lisbon, N.Y.

Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the fifth degree

Date of arrest: 08/26/2026

Court information/incarceration: Town of New Lisbon Court

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of the above listed defendant following an investigation in to the sales of illicit drugs in the Town of New Lisbon. A joint investigation between the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Office of Cannabis Management revealed that the defendant was growing, cultivating and selling mushrooms which contained the hallucinogenic compound of psilocybin.

On August 26th 2026, investigators from both agencies executed a search warrant at the defendant’s property where additional suspected controlled substances were located. The defendant was arrested for the above listed offense and processed at the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office. Following processing, the defendant was lodged in the Otsego County Correctional Facility to await Centralized Arraignment.

The defendant was further cited by the Office of Cannabis Management for violations of New York State Cannabis Laws.

The investigation is on-going and additional charges are pending.

Narrative: The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of the above-named Defendant following a bench warrant issued through the Milford Town Court. New York State Police located the wanted male, took him into custody on the above warrant, and turned him over to Deputies from this Office. The Defendant was then turned over to Otsego County Corrections where he was held pending Centralized Arraignment.

Narrative: The Otsego County Sheriffs Office announces the arrest of the above named Defendant following a report of shots fired. After an investigation conducted by the Otsego County Sheriffs Office and NYSP, the defendant had fired 2 shots during a verbal argument with another individual. The defendant was taken into custody and held at the OCSO for central arraignment.

Narrative: The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of the above-named Defendant following a stolen vehicle complaint in Town of Otego. The Defendant was found to have taken a vehicle from a residence which was later located in the City of Syracuse. A warrant was subsequently issued for the arrest of the Defendant. The Defendant later turned herself in on the warrant and was processed on the above charges. The Defendant was released on her own recognizance and is set to appear in the Town of Otego Court at a later date.

Type of Arrest / Charges: Police Officer Execute Warrant of Arrest

Date of arrest: 08/24/2026

Narrative: The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of the above named defendant following an investigation into a subject who possessed an active warrant through the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the Town of Hartwick for a reported welfare check and upon further investigation of individuals on scene, it was discovered that the above named defendant was wanted by the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office on an active arrest warrant.

After the defendant was taken in to custody without incident, he was transported to the Otsego County and Schoharie County line and turned over to Schoharie County deputies.

S*x Offender Failure to Update Change of Address

Court information/incarceration: Town of Middlefield Court

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of the above mentioned defendant following an investigation in to a s*x offender failing to abide by restrictions issued by the New York State S*x Offender Registry. Investigation revealed that the defendant, a level I s*x offender, failed to make the proper notifications regarding internet accounts that he was in control and custody of. On August 18th 2026, New York State Parole Officers completed a search of the defendant’s cell phone and located multiple internet accounts that were not listed on the defendant’s s*x offender registry. The defendant was then remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on parole violations.

On the above date, the defendant was formally charged with violations of the S*x Offender Registry and issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.

Narrative: The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of the above-named Defendant following the issuance of a warrant by the Town of Roseboom Court. The Defendant was located by Deputies in the Town of Cherry Valley, NY. The Defendant was then transported to the Otsego County Jail where she held for Central Arraignment and later released on her own recognizance.
