📶 Help Bring Better Cell Service to the Butternut Valley

A major project to improve mobile phone coverage in the Town of Butternuts is moving forward, and the public now has an opportunity to show its support.

The Butternuts Neutral Host Mobile Tower Pilot Project would install shared wireless equipment on an existing Otsego County tower to expand reliable cell service in an area with longstanding coverage gaps. Led by Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, Inc. (MVEDD) with support from Otsego County, the project is designed to serve as a model for bringing affordable, carrier-neutral mobile service to rural communities across New York State.

The ConnectALL program is accepting public comments through Tuesday, August 11, at 5:30 p.m.

If reliable cell service is important to you—for emergencies, staying connected with family, running a business, or everyday life—we encourage you to submit a comment in support of the project.

How to participate:

Tuesday, August 11
2:00–3:00 p.m. (via Zoom)
