Last week was the annual Oregon Fire Chiefs' Conference. During the opening ceremonies, the bell is rung in honor of our fallen brothers and sisters from the prior year. It was my honor to read Captain Ken Humbert's name in recognition of all he contributed to our community. RIP brother, we have it from here.

Central was pleased to host our neighboring departments and their families for a BBQ last night, celebrating the conclusion of their Firefighter 1 academy. North Bay Fire District, Greenacres Fire & Rescue, Charleston Fire & Rescue - Oregon.

During our extrication training this weekend, we had people from numerous local departments attend. We even had our neighbors from Sixes River Fire come up here to join us for the two day training!

Firefighters from Greenacres Fire & Rescue and North Bay Fire District joined us for drill last night where we practiced using fire extinguishers. This is the topic students learned about on Monday in the Firefighter I academy. They were able to apply what they learned in class to the hands-on training during drill.

Tonight's drill was combined with our nieghboring departments, Greenacres Fire & Rescue and North Bay Fire District, where Firefighters from the Firefighter 1 Academy learned how to don and doff their PPE.

During our drill last night, we were joined by members from neighboring departments for a lesson of fire behavior and safety using a dollhouse prop. This prop provides a realistic scenario that can replicate various fire conditions and help firefighters understand fire dynamics. Members from our firefighter academy were able to apply lessons they learned in their classroom training during this drill.
