Coos County Republicans

Coos County Republicans Our #1 goal is to get more conservatives elected! OUR PARTY

Republicans are the party of the people. HISTORY

Republicans come from all walks of life.

The Coos County Republican Central Committee (CCRCC) is made up of over 100 neighborhood reps (called Precinct Committee Persons or PCPs) which represent all registered Republicans in Coos County. Republicans believe the formula that will lift all Americans is equality, freedom and limited government. Our party is deeply rooted in protecting human rights, preserving constitutional freedoms such as

free speech, individual achievement and reducing the burdens added upon hard-working citizens. We are the party that promotes jobs, assures opportunity and prosperity for all Americans. Our focus is building a healthy economy based on free enterprise and sensible business practices, not by burdening families with overreaching government, ever-rising taxes and suffocating debt. The successful future of families, single parents, women and minorities communities depends on a nation that is for the people. Republicans believe in the individual, and we support policies that support the value of accomplishment. Because we love our nation and desire to protect United States of America we are a party that supports strong national defense, healthcare reform that ensures quality care while lowering costs and empowering our children with quality education. Now, more than ever before, America needs our leadership, our passion and our principals to guide her back onto the road to recovery. The American Dream is within our grasp and together we will make those dreams a reality. We have a terrific history that demonstrates diversity and the pioneering of civil rights in our country. African Americans, business leaders, women, veteran’s, Hispanics, Asians, among other communities – fill the halls of leadership from state to state, chamber to chamber. The diversity of our party must be recognized as the party of the people. For nearly 200 years, the Republican Party has been the leader in movements endorsing free speech, abolishing slavery, supporting issues such as women’s rights, free enterprise, lowering taxes and creating sustainable energies and economies. Our party has led the nation through tremulous times with sound economic policies and support of our nation’s military. We maintain the largest single economy in the world and our party embraces and uncompromising commitment to protect the citizens of this nation. Some of our nation’s greatest American’s were Republicans – Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan – all fighting to protect Republican ideals. With a history rich in supporting a stronger, brighter nation, it’s easy to see why we’re proud to be Republicans. OUR DUTY

Our duty is to ensure that Republicans are elected in our Local, State and National elections. We do not take sides among our own Republican ranks and will support all the Republicans elected in the Primary by the people of Coos County, Oregon and the United States of America.

📣 ENDORSEMENT ALERT 📣 At our meeting last night, we had a great deal of discussion about the primary election and potential endorsements. A member formally requested that the party endorse Brandi Martindale for Commissioner and the vote passed with overwhelming support!

Brandi Martindale is a 3rd generation Coos County resident and dedicated community leader running for Coos County Commissioner. Born and raised right here in Coos County, Brandi brings over a decade of experience in workforce development, regulatory compliance, executive coaching, and public policy analysis. She is a certified Life and Health Coach and the founder of Pacific Coast Coaching, where she helps individuals, teams, and organizations navigate complex challenges, improve operations, and create lasting positive change.

With degrees from Columbia University, Queens College, and Arizona Western College, and a strong foundation in systems thinking and social-organizational psychology, Brandi has managed multi-sector operations, led compliance efforts across industries, and guided both public and private organizations toward better outcomes. She is not a career politician—she is a practical, collaborative problem-solver who listens first, values data and dignity, and puts rural Coos County values front and center.

As a candidate for County Commissioner, Brandi is focused on delivering real results for Coos County families through practical leadership on key issues:

1. County Budget & Fiscal Responsibility: Using her business planning and compliance expertise to reduce redundancies, streamline processes, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.

2. Public Safety Funding & Jail Capacity: Balancing resources effectively, collaborating across departments, and addressing root causes like addiction and theft with innovative, cost-effective solutions.

3. Roads, Bridges & Infrastructure: Prioritizing repairs based on data, improving transparency, and exploring creative transit options to better connect rural residents.

4. Land Use & Development: Balancing economic growth (including eco-tourism and responsible timber opportunities) with respect for our natural resources and longstanding local lifestyles.

5. Wildfire Preparedness & Emergency Planning: Strengthening inter-department collaboration, crisis communication, and community readiness.

6. Transparency & Civic Engagement: Making county government more accessible, hosting real listening sessions, and ensuring residents have a meaningful voice in decisions.

Brandi brings proven executive experience, hands-on systems expertise, deep local roots, and a commitment to common-sense, compassionate leadership that serves all of Coos County. She has earned our endorsement because she is ready to tackle our challenges with clarity, courage, and a genuine focus on what matters most to our residents.

📣 ENDORSEMENT ALERT 📣 Richard Coleman is a dedicated lifelong resident of Coos County running for Coos County Commissioner. A 1986 graduate of North Bend High School, Richard served seven years in the U.S. Army as a mechanic before furthering his education in diesel mechanics at Lane Community College. He returned to North Bend and built a long career as head mechanic for the local family business, Johnson Rock.

Deeply committed to his community, Richard actively volunteers with the Hauser Citizen Patrol and in the past has contributed to the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

As a candidate for County Commissioner, Richard is focused on three key priorities for Coos County:

1. Public Safety: Strengthening support for law enforcement by ensuring adequate staffing and resources for the Sheriff’s Office, the county jail, and the District Attorney’s Office to effectively enforce laws and protect citizens.

2. Addressing Homelessness: Developing a comprehensive plan to tackle homelessness by first understanding the root causes of the increasing numbers in Coos County, then studying successful solutions implemented by other counties.

3. Public Access to County Lands: Restoring public access to county roads and property, ensuring citizens can once again use the public lands they own.

Richard brings a strong background in service, hands-on problem-solving, and a deep-rooted connection to Coos County. He is committed to practical, common-sense leadership that puts the needs of Coos County residents first, and it is for all these reasons that he has earned our endorsement.

I hope you’ll join me tonight for a virtual town hall with Douglas County Commissioner Tim Freeman.

We’ll be talking about what’s happening in Salem, local economic concerns, and the challenges facing communities across Southwest Oregon. I’ll also share where I’m pushing back on policies that impact rural Oregon.

There will be time for your questions, and your input matters.

Is riding public transport a time saver or a time killer?

Employees in Oregon pay a 0.1% payroll tax on their income to fund public transit.

Voting "Yes" on Measure 120 in May will:
• Doubles the payroll tax
• Increase gas tax by $0.06
• Increases title fees for passenger vehicles $139
• Increase registration fees $42 for passenger vehicles, motorcycles, mopeds, and light trailers.

Go to your favorite map app and see how long it would take for you to ride transit from your home to work. How is paying the transit tax helping you?
