Southwestern Oregon Community College Athletics would like to recognize and celebrate longtime coach and instructor Dave Deutschman for his tremendous contributions to Southwestern and Laker Baseball.

For the past decade, Dave has been an important part of our college and athletic community. His impact reaches far beyond wins and losses. He has coached, taught, and mentored countless student athletes, helping them grow as students, competitors, and young adults while preparing many to continue their academic and athletic careers at four year institutions.

Dave’s dedication and leadership have also helped move Laker Baseball forward. He has been instrumental in the continued development of the program, including improvements to facilities, the addition of a new press box and equipment, and bringing TrackMan technology to Southwestern. His commitment has helped create opportunities and a stronger experience for our student athletes.

Most importantly, Dave has invested countless hours in the young people who have come through Southwestern. The relationships he has built and the positive influence he has had on his players and students will remain an important part of his legacy.

We are incredibly grateful for Dave’s years of dedication, hard work, and commitment to Southwestern Oregon Community College and Laker Baseball. We wish Coach Deutschman and his family nothing but the best in their next chapter.

Thank you, Coach Dave, for everything you have given to Southwestern and Laker Baseball!
