It’s officially Denim Day 2026! πŸ‘–πŸ—£οΈβš–οΈ

Today, advocates in Coos & Curry County, join millions of people worldwide by wearing our jeans or denim to stand in visible solidarity with sexual assault survivors. It is a powerful collective action to dismantle the victim-blaming myths that still permeate our culture. We wear denim because clothing is never an invitation and because consent is never a debate.

How to participate right now:

πŸ‘– WEAR YOUR JEANS. Simple and powerful.
πŸ—£οΈ SHARE THE MESSAGE. Tell someone why you're wearing denim today.
πŸ“Έ TAG US! Take a photo of yourself (or your team!) in your denim and tag The SAFE Project, so we can share your support.

We can’t wait to see Coos and Curry County draped in denim today! Let's make it a day to remember. πŸ—£οΈπŸ‘–πŸ©΅βš–οΈπŸ“ΈπŸŒŠ

Tomorrow is Denim Day! Join us in wearing jeans to stand in solidarity with survivors and take a visible stand against victim-blaming. πŸ‘–πŸ—£οΈ βš–οΈ

Denim Day originated as a protest against a court ruling that suggested clothing could justify sexual assault. We know that is never true. Today, it is a global movement where we wear denim to send a clear message: clothing is never an invitation, and consent is not a debate.

Join the movement tomorrow here in Coos and Curry County. Wear your jeans, raise your voice, and support survivors.

Next Wednesday is Denim Day, and it is time to make a statement. πŸ—£οΈ

Denim Day began as a protest against a court ruling that suggested because a victim wore tight jeans, she must have helped remove them, implying consent. It was absurd then, and it remains unacceptable today. πŸš«πŸ™…πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Wearing jeans on April 29th is more than just a wardrobe choice. It is a visible commitment to dismantling the victim-blaming culture that still permeates our society. We are showing up for survivors and demanding better standards for how we talk about, investigate, and prevent sexual violence.

Join us in wearing denim this Wednesday, tag our page so we can share your support. Let us make it clear that clothing is never an invitation and that consent is not a debate. βš–οΈ

A very special thank you to everyone who joined us at the Curry County Courthouse today to honor National Crime Victims Rights Week. We were honored to hold space and observe a moment of silence for the victims and survivors we serve in Curry County. βš–οΈπŸ’œπŸ›οΈ

We are deeply grateful to Curry County Prevention and the Curry County Juvenile Department for facilitating this important event. It was a privilege to stand alongside our fellow service providers, including Wally's House - Curry Child Abuse Intervention Center and the District Attorney's Crime Victims Assistance Program.

Thank you to Curry County Commissioner, Lynn Coker, for taking time out of his busy schedule to support victim services (and for the selfie! πŸ“Έ) , and to all the community partners and members who showed up to Listen, Advocate, and Act to support this cause today. πŸ’œ
