🚑 Celebrating EMS Week in the Town of Babylon! 🚑
This EMS Week, we’re proud to recognize and honor the dedicated Emergency Medical Services professionals who work tirelessly to protect and serve our community. Councilman Terry McSweeney has asked the chiefs of each local department to nominate an outstanding EMS member to be highlighted for their exceptional service, commitment, and compassion.
Throughout the week, we’ll be spotlighting these local heroes on our page—sharing their stories and celebrating the vital role they play in keeping our residents safe.
Join us in thanking our EMS personnel for all they do, day in and day out. 💙
“Our EMS professionals are the heart of public safety in Babylon," said McSweeney, an FDNY firefighter who serves as the chair of the town's public safety committee.
"Their courage, skill, and compassion deserve our deepest gratitude—not just this week, but every day.”
Today we recognize Alicia Nocera, of the Copiague Fire Department:
"The Copiague Fire Department would like to nominate EMT Alicia Nocera who has been a member of the Copiague Fire Department since 2000. Alicia has been a member who goes above and beyond to answer the calls for help in our community.
Since joining in 2000 she has earned the distinguished honor of earning high percentage (answering the most alarms that year)
3 years in a row 2022, 2023 & 2024. She has also served as a director of our EMS squad during those years. Alicia also represents the department at numerous community events such as Tanner Park Concerts, church and school events always ready to lend a helping hand or provide first aid to anyone who might be injured."
