Tuesday, November 3: Copley Township residents will consider a 3-year, 1.7-mill additional Fire & EMS Levy. This levy strictly funds operations & equipment.
In the next 5 years, the Copley Fire Department is scheduled to replace major emergency vehicles and apparatus totaling approximately $4.5 million. Currently, the Department has a ladder truck and a fire engine that are more than 30 years old. Private equity has consolidated apparatus manufacturers, reducing competition and lengthening build times from months to years. Combined with inflation, capital costs for emergency apparatus have risen sharply nationwide. In response to rising costs and budgetary constraints, Copley Fire Department has significantly lengthened apparatus replacement intervals to delay capital expenditures as long as possible.
There will be more information shared regarding the proposed levy. If you have any questions, please follow this link to view more information regarding Issue 49 on the upcoming ballot: https://www.copley.oh.us/498/2026-Fire-Levy-Information---Issue-49
