October 23rd through October 31st we observe Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week started after the death of Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, who in 1985 was brutally murdered by drug traffickers he was investigating in Mexico. After his death, people started wearing red ribbons to honor Kiki's sacrifice.
Let us never forget Agent Camarena's sacrifice. #Sacrifice, #DEA, #RedRibbonWeek

All,
As we draw closer to the holidays, and we continue to deal with COVID-19, more folks will use online shopping and home deliveries for holiday gifts. Of course that means the the package thieves will be out looking for victims. Here are a few suggestions for helping prevent package thefts.

1.Have your package delivered to the home of a relative or friend that you know will be home.
2. Have your package delivered to your place of work.
3. Have your package held at your local post office for pickup.
4. Take advantage of “Ship to Store” option that many stores offer.
5. Amazon offers a “locker” feature that allows you to pick up your package from a secure location.
6. Request that your package has signature confirmation upon delivery.
7. Ask your carrier to place the package in an area out of plain view.

We could never thank our citizens enough for all the support they have shown the Coppell Police Department during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although we weren't able to celebrate National Night Out with you, you still showed your support for us. Many homes have placed blue light bulbs in front porch lights to show support. Thanks again to our wonderful community. #BetterTogether, #OneCommunity
