Spend your Labor Day with Tennis in Coppell at the Labor Day Tennis Fundraiser, September 7, 9-11:30 a.m. at Coppell High School. This fundraiser supports the CHS Tennis Team in their annual service project with Cans of Love. Cans of Love is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports unhoused people with necessary items such as food, hygiene and first aid.

In December the tennis team will deliver tennis ball cans full of such items and provide a hot meal for 100+ people in the unhoused community. The team will be a part of restoring dignity and hope to individuals by learning how to serve their neighbors.

Coach Alyssa Noonan will direct the morning of tennis and Cans of Love will offer a fun silent auction with airbnbs, tennis racquets, pickle paddles and much more.

What’s the worst sound when you’re trying to sleep? A mosquito buzzing in your ear! Imagine if there were a whole bunch of mosquitos and June bugs and ants and spiders all around you while you’re trying to sleep. Sounds like camping and it kind of is but it’s also what homeless people deal with every day and every night when they’re sleeping on the street. At Cans of Love we are often asked how you can help with our mission and here’s a really easy way. Click on this amazon link and help these good people with a bottle or two of insect repellant. We’ll collect them, package them and distribute them this summer. Your gift will make a difference and bring a measure of dignity to a tough situation. Thank you!
