A big thank you to Baylor Scott & White Emergency Hospital – Aubrey for this incredible First Responder Appreciation Event! We are proud to serve the DFW Metroplex and its patient population alongside you!

We are feeling very appreciated (and also very satisfied Not Just Q - that cheesy corn!)

As the story goes, the challenge coin dates back to World War One- a game that started between members of the military, stationed in Germany.

Community.

Camaraderie.

Tradition.

We created and gifted our very first challenge coin to our team members, at the turn of the year.

2020 was a historic year for many reasons and that held true for Sterling EMS.

We expanded our footprint in Texas, after 4 years of serving DFW, to meet the needs of one of our healthcare partners in San Antonio.

Standing up an operation in 2020 was quite the challenge, but one we have been glad to embrace.

Here’s* to continuing to accept challenges, building traditions, and creating community in 2021!

{*cheers}

We are healthcare. Masks on. Socially distanced. Limited attendees in each class.

...But the show must go on...

Providers need recertifications to continue caring for patients in need.

So we are going to, for as long as we are able, continue to support them in any way we can.

We are, truly, in this together.

We are always thankful for our field providers, communication center team members, and community partners- all that serve.

Today, we are especially grateful for those who are on-duty, away from their loved ones, supporting patients in need.

Thank you.

Wishing you and yours a safe and happy Thanksgiving and official kickoff to the holiday season

🔈🔔 Friday marked another organizational milestone and we couldn’t be more excited 🔔🔈

Our San Antonio division is growing!

Slowly, intentionally, and fully aligned with our partners with whom we are committed to serving.

We are proud to say, we are doing things a little bit differently.

Even within the same state, region, or county the delivery of healthcare can and often does look completely different.

What works for one community of people, or for one patient, or one customer, may not work for another.

We recognize that.

We respect that.

Association of Texas EMS Professionals

Whole Blood saves lives! The Association of Texas EMS Professionals is encouraging all Texas EMS providers to #FillTheBlood of their local blood centers before the end of August.

In 2019, North Texas Regional EMS (NTREMS) became the first Texas EMS system to add whole blood to every ambulance.

The blood is stored in a portable BloodBoxx™ EMS thermal protection container and all NTREMS Paramedics are trained in its administration. This makes whole blood an immediate treatment option once its need is recognized.

The NTREMS model reveals that modern technology and training exists for expanded prehospital implementation. Expansion is most constricted by the availability of whole blood.

Texas Recognizes Emergency Services Dispatchers as First Responders - EmComm Brief

We are proud to see that Governor Abbott signed this into state law. Texas now recognizes that 9-1-1 emergency dispatchers provide critical and life-saving services for the public and are considered first responders. Thank you to our emergency medical dispatchers and congrats on getting recognized for the vital role you play in public safety!

Governor Greg Abbott signs HB1090 into law On Monday June 10, 2019, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas signed House Bill 1090 into law. Every Medic, Every Unit: in emergency medicine, there are few things as urgent as the need for a life-saving blood transfusion for a patient that needs it.

North Texas Regional EMS is the only service in the metroplex to carry cold-stored, low-titer O+ whole blood on every unit.

When patients need blood, they can't afford to wait.

We were honored to be asked to participate in a reenactment of a drunk-driving accident with multiple fatalities. The Aubrey Independent School District Police did a fantastic job putting this together. Thanks for letting us help out!

Today, Aubrey Independent School District Police produced a reenactment of an accident scene with multiple fatalities caused by a drunk driver.

Chief Scott Collins of the Aubrey ISD Police organized the reenactment for the Aubrey High School student body and scheduled it a day before the school prom.

“We care about our kids,” Collins said. “If we save one life from a drinking and driving accident around prom time or any other time by showing the kids the impact this stuff can make, that’s what we need to do as educators.”

Agencies that assisted in the reenactment included Aubrey Fire Department, Pilot Point Fire Department, Texas Highway Patrol, North Texas Regional EMS and PHI Med 10. Denton County, Texas Judge Mike Oglesby acted as justice of the peace to pronounce students dead.

Slay Memorial Funeral Center participated as the office of the medical examiner. Motorsports Towing donated cars.

O(+) Really? Life-saving whole blood, now on every NTREMS ambulance. Every responding unit carries low-titer O+ and is ready to begin emergency transfusion as soon as they arrive. This makes NTREMS the first EMS provider (ground) to carry whole blood on every responding unit. Being a leader in critical care means bringing whole blood to the patient's bedside... because the patients that need blood can't afford to wait.

First impressions are a serious business: clinical excellence starts with a phone call, as NTREMS dispatchers field emergency requests in our 24/7 communications center. Also responsible for dispatching the closest ambulance, dispatchers make sure our medics are safe, on time, and at the right location. It might look easy, but our communications team are in a career where mistakes can be unforgiving, calls are never predictable, and every shift will demand superhuman multitasking abilities. We are proud of our dispatchers, who are calm and professional while creating order from chaos.

We are excited to announce the 5k goal has been MET and EXCEEDED, thanks to your generosity. As of the time of this update, we now show $7,215 has been raised for John's funeral expenses. We are both amazed and humbled by the outpouring of support over the last couple of days.

There is still time to donate, although the window is closing soon. We will be ending this campaign on Sunday, October 28th at 3pm. Our plan is to hand-deliver a check for the entire GoFundMe amount (plus NTREMS matching funds) to the family on Monday night.

On behalf of John's family, friends, and NTREMS coworkers, thank you. Thank you for helping us memorialize John Neal in this way. From the financial support, words of encouragement, cards, flowers, calls, text messages, and every other form of support received, words fail to communicate just how much we appreciate each of you right now.

Please help us fund the funeral expenses for John Neal, EMT-B. John was one of the founding members of North Texas Regional EMS, and brought his trademark charisma and smile to each patient, nurse, physician, and co-worker he interacted with every single day.
