We started this page so that those who visit the memorial can learn a bit more about Glenn and so that visitors can come to this page and comment on their visit to the memorial and post photos of their own. He loved all sports and being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and was very close with his family, especially his parents and two sisters. In August of 1998, Glenn went on a
camping trip with his best friend and his friend's father up to High Rock Bay. He was very excited for this particular trip because they were bringing their dirt bikes. On the morning of August 14, 1998, Glenn took one of the dirt bikes out for a ride on High Rock Bay Road. Unfortunately, he had very limited experience with riding it and he lost control. He hit a large bump and was knocked unconscious. Glenn and the bike then proceeded to fall off of the cliff and enter Lake Superior, right underneath where the memorial now stands. As his family, we were absolutely devastated. Shortly after Glenn's passing, we decided to visit the area where he passed away and bring with us the large boulder from our yard that we had a bronze plaque placed in. Since then we have added many items to the memorial site and we are so very pleased to see that complete strangers have also left small tokens around the boulder to share their condolences. We have received countless emails and pictures from people that have visited the memorial and we absolutely love seeing them since we are unable to make the trip up to Copper Harbor more than every few years. That is the main reason we created this page. So that people will have a place to share their stories from their trips out to High Rock Bay and hopefully share their pictures as well. We wanted people to know a bit of back story about the memorial and get to know a little bit about Glenn.. who we will continue to miss. Thank you for visiting the site!
