The Network will hold its next Surge Tuesday at PAR Guns, located at 2705 E. Bus. 190 in Copperas Cove.
The Network is a group of small business owners and managers. The group gathers monthly at Surges – or mixers – to network and discuss issues affecting the area.
The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. and usually ends at around 7:30 p.m.
Mike Desmond, the owner and operator of PAR Guns, said he’s looking forward to the upcoming Network Surge. “We’re really excited,” he said. “This gives us a chance to rub elbows with other small businesses.”
PAR Guns is planning a demonstration from Lacy Bobbit on Situational Awareness. “We’re hoping the Situational Awareness (presentation) will help other businesses,” said Desmond. “Times are different, times are changing. The instructor will talk about specific things that relate to other business owners here, things that we want people to know about, so people know who we are and what we offer.”
"There had been a rash of local robberies at some of our businesses in Cove this summer and although they have been solved, thanks to the great work of our police department, getting information on how to deal with these type of situations is very important to us as business owners and managers,” said Joyce Hauk a member of the Network. “We need to be aware and we need to stay safe. Tips on situational awareness is something we all can use and I encourage businesses to attend this Surge."
The Network’s Robert Weidinger II encourages local business owners and managers to attend the Surge. “It is a great opportunity for small businesses to get the word out about what they do and the services they offer,” he said. “Most of the people in this town don’t even know what we have to offer.
“People are very busy trying to run a business,” said Weidinger, “but we have to take time to find out what everyone else is doing so that we can be better ambassadors of our town.”
