Starting May 11th, CCSC will officially begin serving lunch on Mondays!

Copperas Cove Senior Center – Temporary Closure Update from Hill Country Community Action Association (HCCAA) and City of Copperas Cove

On April 8th, the Copperas Cove Senior Center experienced a major plumbing issue that caused a sewage backup resulting in significant damages and temporary closure of the facility. After investigating, a plumber reported the issue was due to a significant amount of inappropriate items being flushed.

We understand how important the Center is for meals, connection, and daily routines, and we recognize this closure has been frustrating for many. We also acknowledge that updates posted on the Senior Center page on reopening timelines could have been more timely, and we are committed to improving communication moving forward. During the temporary closure, HCCAA continued the meals program providing vital nutrition for participates.

HCCAA is currently working through the repairs/restoration process with the insurance provider and contractors. While repairs are in progress, HCCAA anticipates re-opening the Senior Center on Monday, May 4th, with some portions of the Center remaining closed until repairs are complete.

The City of Copperas Cove constructed and owns the new facility located at 2400 Walker Place Blvd; however, the Senior Center is operated and managed by HCCAA. We appreciate your patience as we work through these processes to restore services as soon as possible. Thank you.

At this time, The Copperas Cove Senior Center will remain closed until Wednesday, April 29th.

Ongoing efforts are taking place to get the center reopened as soon as possible. Please keep an eye on our page for any further updates or changes.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to reopen the Copperas Cove Senior Center on Monday, April 20th as we had hoped. At this time, we do not have a new reopening date scheduled.

As soon as we have an update, we will share it right here on our page—so please keep an eye out for more information.
