City Council Meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month (w/ exception of only one meeting in December) in the City Council Chambers at 508 S. 2nd Street. Workshops begin at 5pm, followed by Regular Meetings at 6pm.⏰

Everbridge Replaces CodeRED as Regional Emergency Notification System

Copperas Cove, Texas – The City of Copperas Cove announces that Everbridge has replaced the CodeRED Mass Emergency Communication System across the Central Texas Council of Governments region, effective September 1, 2026.

Residents currently registered with CodeRED will have their information transferred to Everbridge. However, residents are encouraged to create an Everbridge account to verify their information and select their preferred notification methods.

Everbridge notifications may include:
• Severe weather, fires, floods, and other emergencies
• Road closures and transportation disruptions
• Water utility maintenance and service information
• Emergency response information
• Other important community announcements

Alerts may be delivered by cell phone call, text message, email, home phone, and other available communication methods based on the preferences selected by the user. Copperas Cove residents may register or update their information through the Everbridge registration page at City of Copperas Cove TX - Sign In: https://member.everbridge.net/101672076443718/login

A direct registration link is also available on the City of Copperas Cove website at www.copperascovetx.gov.

Residents who would like to receive notifications for another location within the Central Texas Council of Governments region may visit www.ctcog.org and select the location for which they would like to receive alerts.

Residents are encouraged to create their Everbridge account and review their notification preferences to help ensure they continue receiving timely emergency and community information.

✈️ TRAINING NOTICE | FORT HOOD

B-52 Stratofortress aircraft from the 343rd Bomb Squadron from Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, will conduct training operations involving the release of 500-pound munitions between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Sept. 1 in the Fort Hood impact area, as part of routine training.

The training supports aircrew proficiency and joint readiness and will take place exclusively within designated training areas on the installation. Residents living on and around Fort Hood may experience increased aircraft noise and hear detonations during the scheduled training windows. All operations are carefully planned and coordinated to ensure the safety of service members and the surrounding community.

The installation’s impact area will remain restricted to unauthorized personnel during training operations. Individuals are reminded not to enter restricted training areas at any time and to report any unexploded ordnance or suspicious objects by calling 911 or the Fort Hood Directorate of Emergency Services at 254-287-4001.

Fort Hood regularly conducts training exercises to maintain readiness while working closely with local communities to minimize disruptions.

In observance of the Labor Day Holiday, all City of Copperas Cove facilities will be closed on Monday, September 7th, to include the Solid Waste Transfer Station. Residential collections scheduled for September 7-10 will be delayed by one day. Commercial trash will be collected on the regularly scheduled day. Here are links to the schedule and area map:

🎓 Citizens Leadership Academy | Week 4

Another great evening with our Citizens Leadership Academy!

Tonight, our class heard from:

👥 Human Resources
📚 Copperas Cove Public Library
🤝 Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce

Students asked some wonderful questions and learned just how important each of these departments/organization are to our community.

From understanding the role Human Resources plays in supporting our City team, to seeing the incredible value our Library brings to residents, and learning more about the strong partnership and connection between the City and our Chamber of Commerce, it was another evening full of great information and conversation.

Thank you to all of tonight’s speakers for making the class so interesting and engaging, and thank you to our students for continuing to bring such great questions each week!

We can’t wait to see everyone again next week! 💙
