Fire Season Begins Tomorrow – Important Information for Coquille Residents

Starting at 12:01 AM tomorrow, we will officially enter Low Fire Danger, marking the beginning of fire season.

Please note that there have been some changes to this year’s regulations. The information and restrictions currently in effect apply only within the City of Coquille limits.

If you live outside the city limits, you will need to contact Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) for burning regulations and restrictions in your area. Their contact information can be found on the attached flyer.

Questions about burning regulations or when burning is allowed? Contact Coquille Fire Department Station 1 at 541-396-2232.

Fire season flyers will be available in the information box outside the station door for anyone who would like a copy.

As always, please burn responsibly and use caution. If you see smoke, fire activity, or anything that doesn't seem right, don't hesitate to call. A member of the department will respond to ensure everyone's safety.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe this fire season!

🔥🚒 Heads up, Coquille! 🚒🔥
This Saturday, April 25 starting at 9 AM, the Coquille Fire Department alongside Coos Forest will be conducting a prescribed burn at the GP lot.

👀 What to expect:
You may see smoke from the highway — don’t worry! This is a planned and controlled burn, and fire crews will be on-site the entire time keeping things safe. Please do not call 911 as this is not an emergency and the Dispatch center is plenty of busy with actual emergent calls

Why it matters:
This is a valuable live-fire training opportunity as we gear up for the upcoming fire season. It helps crews stay sharp and prepared to protect our community.

Feel free to share this post to help spread the word and avoid confusion!

Last night, Coquille Fire & Rescue had the opportunity to participate in live fire training at Fairview Fire’s training grounds. This was an excellent experience for several of our younger firefighters who have not yet had the chance to work in live fire conditions.
We would like to extend a big thank you to Fairview Fire for allowing us to use your facility and for supporting our continued training.
Trainings like this not only help build skills, but also strengthen teamwork and trust knowing your interior partner is ready and able to accomplish the tasks at hand when it matters most.

Wow, Coquille… you showed UP today! 🥞🔥💛
A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to support the Coquille Fire Department Pancake Feed and the incredible work of the Emanuel Children’s Burn Center!

Because of you the smiling faces, the full plates of pancakes, the generous donations, and all the community love — this event was a tremendous success.

This cause means so much to us. We’ve seen firsthand the amazing impact the Burn Center has on children and families. The care, the compassion, the life-changing recoveries… it’s truly inspiring. These kids go on to live strong, fulfilling lives, and your support helps make that possible.

So whether you flipped pancakes, shared a post, brought your family, or simply showed up hungry and ready to support — THANK YOU. We appreciate you more than you know. Coquille always shows what community is all about, and today was no exception. 🔥

Already looking forward to next year! 🙌🥞
