Celebrating the incredible women who shape our lives with love, strength, wisdom, and grace.

On May 1st, the Adult Activity Center hosted a beautiful Mother’s Day Opera Concert that brought our community together for an unforgettable afternoon of music and celebration. I had the privilege of opening the event with a special Mother’s Day blessing dedicated to all mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and great-grandmothers who continue to inspire generations with their love and sacrifice.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so meaningful and memorable for our community. Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing women who make Coral Gables so special.

Today, we gathered at the Coral Gables Police & Fire Headquarters to honor the brave men and women of the Coral Gables Police Department who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our community.

The Coral Gables Police Memorial serves as a powerful reminder that behind every badge is a life dedicated to protecting others, often at great personal risk. Their courage, commitment, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

It was an honor to stand alongside our officers, families, residents, and community leaders in remembrance and gratitude. Coral Gables will always remember those who gave everything in the line of duty.

Honored to be recognized as a 2026 Home Rule Hero by the Florida League of Cities.

During this legislative session, I stood firm to make sure local voices are heard and respected where it matters most. Decisions about our communities should be made by those who live in them, not handed down from afar.

I will continue fighting for policies that protect our neighborhoods, strengthen local control, and improve the quality of life for every resident in Coral Gables.

This recognition isn’t just mine. It reflects the voices of the community I’m proud to represent.

Really grateful for Michael, Armando, and William for coming to Commission today and sharing the vision behind the Matheson Hammock Market.

Armando, you did an incredible job. What you’re building is more than just a farmers market, it’s an initiative that creates meaningful employment opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum and within the special needs community. That matters.

I was so inspired that I invited them to lunch at my Commission office to continue the conversation and see how we can help this grow even further. Coral Gables should always support efforts that combine community, opportunity, and purpose.

For those who haven’t visited yet, the Matheson Hammock Market takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM at Matheson Hammock Park. You’ll find local vendors, fresh products, and a beautiful waterfront setting, all while supporting a mission-driven initiative that gives back to our community.

Go check it out, bring your family, and support something that truly makes a difference.

Honored to be recognized as a Home Rule Hero by the Florida League of Cities.

This recognition reflects the work I’ve been doing not just for Coral Gables, but alongside leaders across the state to protect local decision-making and stand up for our residents.

While narratives may come and go, results and advocacy speak for themselves.

I’ll continue fighting for transparency, for our neighborhoods, and for a city government that puts residents first.

Why change 100 years of elections?
That’s the question every resident should be asking.

This isn’t just about a date on the calendar. It’s about who has a stronger voice in our city… the people who live here, or outside influence and big money.

I wrote this op-ed to break it down in simple terms so you can decide for yourself.

Take a few minutes to read it. Understand what’s at stake. And most importantly, make your voice count. This opinion is shared in my personal capacity. No City resources were used in the preparation of this post.

Accountability matters. Leadership is defined by how we treat others, especially when we disagree.

For three years, I have stayed focused on serving our residents. Today, I am choosing to speak with honesty and clarity about what has been taking place.

Coral Gables deserves dignity, respect, and leadership that reflects the values of our community.

Honored to recognize two meaningful moments at today’s Coral Gables Commission meeting.

First, we celebrated the inclusion of the historic Granada and Biltmore Golf Courses as part of Florida’s Historic Golf Trail, a well-deserved recognition of their legacy and importance to our city and the state of Florida.

We also received a special presentation from former Mayor Don Slesnick, who generously donated a framed architectural drawing of the iconic Coral Gables Water Tower to the City of Coral Gables. A beautiful tribute to the history and architectural heritage that makes our City Beautiful so unique.

Preserving our history while celebrating the places that define Coral Gables is something we can all be proud of.
