UMgotv

UMgotv UMGOTV campaign strives to promote civic engagement on campus through non-partisan efforts. No candidate endorsements are given, and no agenda is set.

UMGOTV, is a student organization, was originally started to precede the 2004 Presidential Debate hosted at the University of Miami. Its objective was to register students in the City of Coral Gables, a crucial part of the battleground State of Florida for most elections. Registering approximately 2,000 students to vote and establishing a polling site at the formerly known Convocation Center, the

University became a strategic location to sway votes. On November 2, 2004, a high turnout of 62% registered to vote at the Convocation Center came out to vote. To this day, Get Out The Vote maintains its mission as a student led organization to empower other students by registering them to vote and educating them about the issues that affect them. The group motivates University of Miami students to register to vote and mobilizes those students to go to the polls. Instead, the belief is that students should learn about the issues and vote what they think.

🚨WHO’S READY FOR A FIELD TRIP?🚨

Join us TOMORROW while we visit the Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Office! 🙌

If interested, please email us ([email protected]) before 4:00pm today to express interest. We will be meeting at the Butler Center at 10:20am tomorrow and transportation will be provided!

We will be receiving a tour of the facility and an explanation of election integrity protocols, how ballots are distributed and counted, and much more! 🗳️
