The 55th Pacific Islands Forum is underway in Palau, with Taiwan participating as a development partner, led by Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung.

Alongside sharing Taiwanese favorites like gua bao, douhua, and Taichung taro cakes, Taiwan also presented drones to its Pacific allies to deepen cooperation in technology, talent development, and industry.

2026國際青年大使交流計畫的青年大使們途經邁阿密，帶著台灣青年的熱情、活力與才華，開啟與世界交流的旅程。🤝

周處長致詞時表示，青年大使不只是來自台灣的年輕代表，更是台灣與世界交朋友的行動者。他引用林部長「人人都是外交官」的理念，鼓勵青年把握每一次與世界交流的機會，拓展國際視野；也鼓勵有志服務國家的青年勇於挑戰外交特考，為台灣外交注入更多青春與活力。🇹🇼

這次青年大使們短暫停留邁阿密，我們也特別邀請安良工商會準備晚餐，熱情接待這群遠道而來的台灣青年。🍜✨

一路奔波之後，一頓熟悉的亞洲料理、一個溫暖的夜晚，讓青年大使們在海外也感受到來自台灣社群的支持與關懷。吃飽、休息一晚，隔天再帶著滿滿的活力繼續上路！✈️🌏

從文化交流到青年對話，從分享台灣故事到認識海外台灣人的足跡，每一次相遇，都是讓世界更認識台灣的機會。🌎

The 2026 Taiwan International Youth Ambassador delegation stopped in Miami as part of their journey around the world, bringing with them the energy, talent, and enthusiasm of Taiwan’s next generation. 🤝

In welcoming the delegation, Director General Charles Chou reminded the students that they are more than young representatives of Taiwan—they are ambassadors in their own right, building connections and friendships between Taiwan and the world. Citing Foreign Minister Lin’s message that “everyone can be a diplomat,” he encouraged the students to make the most of every opportunity to broaden their horizons and consider a future in diplomacy. 🇹🇼

During their brief overnight stay in Miami, we were delighted to welcome the delegation and work with the On Leong Merchant Association Miami Chapter to arrange a warm dinner featuring familiar Asian flavors. 🍜✨

After a long day on the road, a good meal and a restful night offered a little taste of home and a warm reminder of the Taiwanese community’s support along their journey.

The next morning, it was time to hit the road again. ✈️🌏

We were glad to welcome these talented young ambassadors to Miami and be part of their journey, even for just one night. Wishing them an inspiring and memorable journey ahead as they continue to share Taiwan’s story with the world! 🇹🇼✨

台灣再次呼籲聯合國：不要遺漏2,350萬台灣人民。 🇹🇼

第81屆聯合國大會即將開議，台灣持續爭取有意義參與聯合國體系，為全球永續發展、和平與安全貢獻力量。🌍

一個真正「普惠全民」的聯合國，不應讓任何人缺席。🤝

23.5 million people should not be left behind. 🇹🇼

As the UNGA81 approaches, Taiwan is once again calling for meaningful participation in the UN system—and the opportunity to contribute to global peace, security, and sustainable development. 🌍

A UN that “delivers for all” should leave no one out. 🤝

第81屆「聯合國大會」將於今年9月8日開議，總辯論主題為「恢復信任、應對轉型：一個普惠全民的聯合國」。

葛葆萱次長日前召開記者會，向國人說明今年政府推動參與聯合國的訴求及策略，重點包含：

1⃣ #聯大第2758號決議 並未排除台灣有意義參與聯合國體系，聯合國應尋求適當方式接納台灣的參與，以利台灣對加速實現聯合國「永續發展目標」作出具體貢獻。

2⃣ 我國堅持維護台海現狀，並全力守護台海的和平與穩定。維持台海現狀不僅被國際社會高度認同與信賴，獲得民主夥伴的支持，更是台灣民意的共識。台海的和平與穩定，是世界安全與繁榮的必要元素。

3⃣ 台灣向聯合國與國際社會承諾和平解決爭端，並堅定維護國際法秩序。任何破壞台海現狀的企圖與作為，就是破壞「聯合國憲章」中禁止使用武力與要求和平解決爭端的原則。

此外，林佳龍部長也將發表專文「恢復信任：台灣在自由世界應有的正當地位」，親自向全球各界說明我國政府立場，強調聯合國必須遵循其憲章，公平正義對待國際社會所有成員，才能重拾國際社會的信任。

台灣是國際社會重要且負責任的一員，與世界各國共同面對全球挑戰，也是聯合國 #應對轉型 不可或缺的關鍵力量。我國政府再次呼籲聯合國儘速尋求適當方式納入台灣，以落實「不遺漏任何人」的承諾，以及 #普惠全民聯合國 的目標。

■ Taiwan actively promotes UN participation, calls for a UN that delivers for all

The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly will open on September 8 at the UN headquarters in New York. The theme of this year’s General Debate will be “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All.”

MOFA Vice Minister Baushuan Ger held a special press conference on September 1 to communicate to the public the Taiwan government’s 2026 campaign and strategy for promoting Taiwan’s UN participation, highlighting:

1⃣ UNGA Resolution 2758 neither dealt with Taiwan’s sovereignty nor precluded Taiwan’s meaningful participation in the UN system. The UN should identify appropriate ways of including Taiwan’s participation in the UN system so that Taiwan can contribute its expertise and experience to help accelerate the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

2⃣ Firmly maintaining the status quo and ensuring peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait is the mainstream public opinion in Taiwan and the widely held and staunch position of the international community. It has also received extensive support among Taiwan’s democratic partners. Peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait are indispensable to global security and prosperity.

3⃣ Taiwan is committed to the peaceful settlement of disputes and staunchly defending the international legal order. Any attempts or actions to disrupt the status quo across the Taiwan Strait contravene the principles enshrined in the UN Charter prohibiting the threat or use of force and requiring the peaceful settlement of disputes.

Minister Lin Chia-lung published an op-ed entitled “Restoring trust: Taiwan’s rightful place in the free world” to communicate the Taiwan government’s stance to the world. The op-ed underlines that only by following the principles set out in the UN Charter and treating every member of the international community in a fair and just manner can the UN win back the international community’s confidence.

As an important stakeholder in the international community, Taiwan stands ready to face global challenges alongside global partners, and is an indispensable and vital force in the UN’s efforts to manage transformation. The government of Taiwan once again calls on the UN system to recognize the legitimate right of the 23.5 million people of Taiwan to participate in international affairs and to promptly seek appropriate ways to include Taiwan. Only in this way can the UN truly realize its commitment to leave no one behind and being a UN that delivers for all.

周處長致詞時強調「健康是海外打拚最關鍵的基石」，並肯定邁阿密臺灣商會長期凝聚僑心、服務鄉親，持續規劃貼近生活與實際需求的健康講座，同時祝福所有鄉親身體健康、闔家平安。💙🙏

Director General Charles Chou, accompanied by Secretary Franco Tu, attended the medical and health seminar hosted by the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Miami on August 29. The event saw enthusiastic participation and lively interaction throughout. 🏥✨

In his remarks, Director General Chou emphasized that “health is the most important foundation for building a life and pursuing success overseas.” He also praised the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Miami for its longstanding commitment to bringing the Taiwanese community together and serving local Taiwanese residents, while continuing to organize health seminars that address their everyday needs and concerns. He also extended his best wishes to everyone for good health and peace for their families. 💙🙏

It’s great to see the SelectFlorida international trade and business delegation visiting Taiwan and building on the sister-state relationship between Taiwan and Florida, which dates back to 1992.

From trade and economic cooperation to education, workforce development, and industry connections, Taiwan and Florida continue to look for opportunities to strengthen our partnership. The January 2025 Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Economic and Trade Cooperation signed between Taiwan’s International Trade Administration and the Florida Department of Commerce also laid an important foundation for greater collaboration ahead.

Although Taiwan and Florida are thousands of miles apart, there are many opportunities to connect and collaborate across trade, investment, industry, education, and talent development.

Looking forward to seeing this trans-Pacific sister-state partnership create even more opportunities for meaningful collaboration.

On August 31, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AIT, the Ministry of Education, and the Industrial Development Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs co-hosted the Freedom 250 Workforce First Summit, bringing together around 150 leaders from government, academia, and industry across Taiwan and the United States.🤝

Centered on Workforce First, the summit focused on semiconductor workforce development, industry-academia collaboration, and two-way exchange.

As Taiwan-U.S. cooperation in semiconductors, advanced technology, and advanced manufacturing continues to deepen, the partnership is also expanding into education and talent development.

From semiconductor workforce partnerships to greater student exchange, Taiwan and the United States are investing in the next generation of talent—building a stronger foundation for future innovation and industry collaboration.

On August 25, Director General Chou met with Florida State Representative Chase Tramont (R). DG Chou expressed appreciations for Representative Tramont’s longstanding support in the state legislature for the passage of resolutions favorable to Taiwan. He also briefed Representative Tramont on Taiwan’s current developments in democracy, economy, semiconductor and high-tech industries. The two sides also exchanged views on ways to further strengthen economic, trade, and cultural exchanges between Taiwan and Florida.🤝
