It was a pleasure to visit our Hialeah Gardens Service Center and spend time with the dedicated team members who work every day to serve the residents of Miami-Dade County.

As Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I believe that great public service begins with listening to both our residents and our employees. Visiting our offices allows us to see firsthand what is working, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure we continue delivering the highest level of customer service possible.

40,992 permits reviewed. 4,707 permits canceled.

Protecting disabled parking permits means protecting the residents who truly need them. Our audit identified permits linked to deceased individuals, incomplete records, and potential fraud.

Abuse has consequences. We will continue finding it, correcting it, and protecting access for those who depend on these permits every day.

40,992 permisos revisados. 4,707 permisos cancelados.

Proteger los permisos de estacionamiento para personas con discapacidad es proteger a quienes realmente los necesitan. Nuestra auditoría identificó permisos vinculados a personas fallecidas, registros incompletos y posibles casos de fraude.

El abuso tiene consecuencias. Continuaremos identificándolo, corrigiéndolo y protegiendo el acceso para quienes dependen de estos permisos todos los días.

As Miami-Dade County Tax Collector, I have made it clear from day one: if credible evidence shows that a business is violating federal law or engaging in unauthorized commerce connected to the Cuban communist dictatorship, we will act.

Today, my office revoked Local Business Tax Receipts associated with businesses identified by federal authorities as participating in unauthorized commercial activities involving Cuba. Miami-Dade County will not be used as a base of operations for businesses that break the law, evade federal requirements, or profit from dealings connected to a regime that has oppressed the Cuban people for more than six decades.

This is about the rule of law, accountability, and protecting honest businesses that follow the rules. Companies that operate legally have nothing to fear. But those who choose to ignore compliance requirements, engage in unlawful activity, or support the Cuban communist dictatorship should understand that there will be consequences.

My office will continue working closely with federal, state, and local partners to ensure compliance with the law and to protect the integrity of our local business community.

Miami-Dade County stands with freedom, transparency, and the rule of law.

Hoy, mi oficina revocó Recibos de Impuesto Comercial Local de empresas identificadas por autoridades federales por participar en actividades comerciales no autorizadas relacionadas con Cuba. Miami-Dade County no será utilizado como base de operaciones para empresas que violen la ley, evadan requisitos federales o se beneficien de negocios vinculados a un régimen que ha oprimido al pueblo cubano durante más de seis décadas.

Esto se trata del estado de derecho, la rendición de cuentas y la protección de los negocios honestos que cumplen con las normas. Las empresas que operan legalmente no tienen nada que temer. These moments with Carolina, Elizabeth, and Anastasia remind me how blessed I am and how important it is to keep God at the center of our lives. Faith gives us strength, family gives us purpose, and together they help us face every challenge with hope and gratitude. Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday filled with God’s love and peace.
