The Renaissance Program was established in August of 2008 to address the needs of growing diversity and challenges with youth in the Johnson and Linn County Communities. Our program offers solutions to strengthen families by addressing issues surrounding youth with mental heal

th and/or adjustment disorders. The Renaissance Program strives to provide quality direct services to youth, connect families with needs resources to help them become successful and coordinate mental health services so that it is integrated into the care of the client. Our objectives are to promote academic achievement, recreational activity, career development and self-awareness; not limited exclusively to, but with a heightened awareness and sensitivity to, those underserved minorities living in and around the Greater Iowa City Area. Our Programs will accomplish this through:

*Relationships with positive adults

*Involving youth in leadership positions

*Increasing life skills

*Increasing civic engagement and community stewardship

*Learning healthy conflict resolution methods

*Strengthening the family unit and

*Gaining professional/financial responsibility.
