The backbone of our program’s Officer Candidate School preparation is the monthly applicant pool function. One Saturday a month, we train and educate for three hours. On Saturday, we hiked 3 miles aboard Camp Dodge in Des Moines, IA. Immediately after we introduced and refined infantry tactics. We wrapped up our Saturday with weapons familiarization, utilizing the installation’s Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainer (ISMT).

While our OST Staff sets the framework, these events are led by our own applicants and once-trained candidates—a testament to the program’s ability to develop leaders.

If you’re a college student or graduate inspired by these young men and women pushing themselves in pursuit of leadership and service, reach out—we’d be happy to get you started in the Marine Officer Program!

Very few lawyers in the private sector get exposure to such variety and hands-on experience so early in their careers. In addition to hands-on legal experience, the Marine Corps offers opportunities to deepen expertise by obtaining a Master of Laws Degree.
