244 Tanker / Engine was first arriving today, assisting Coraopolis Station 127 with mutual aid fire companies at a House Fire. 244 T/E established a water supply and assisted with fire suppression.

244 Special Service / Air was also on scene to fill firefighter breathing air cylinders and get units back in service while on scene.

244 Special Service / Air truck assisted 258 Sewickely (and dozens of fire companies )at a large residential structure fire in Edgeworth this morning. The Air Truck is used to refill SCBA air cylinders helping to get crews back in service and ready for the next responce while still on scene

This is important when many companies respond to large incidence and deplete available fire resources in the area.

Groveton School History

The Groveton School, established in 1924, became a beloved educational center for the small Groveton Village community. Known for its close-knit atmosphere and dedicated teachers, it provided meaningful experiences for students until its closure in 1972. It now serves as the Walden Activity Center.

Monday 244 Tanker practiced water shuttle operations with drop tanks and drafting at Moon Township VFC 197.

Last weekend firefighters from Stations 244 and 181 attending the Bill Voegler Fire Training Blitz at Butler County Fire Academy.
The 12 hour (3pm to 3am) blitz consisted of over 60 trainings scenerios in several disciplines and scales. From building fires, car crashes, rope rescues, industrial fires and more. The rescue scenerios included several live patient actors.

244 Tanker was first due for a working structure fire at a duplex in the village. Initial dispatch was a dryer fire off the kitchen. Fire was confined to the room or origin and under control in under 15 minutes. No injuries reported.

Last night Station 244 hosted “Passenger Train Emergancy Responce” training presented by Amtrak. Nearly 60 first responders from mutual aid fire departments attended.
