We also extend our love to Whitley County EMS where Amanda Jackson served the community diligently as Director. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten, forever in our hearts.

Corbin firefighters are spending the weekend taking a VFIS Drivers Training Course. The goal of this program is to increase vehicle operation safety by applying basic principles of risk management and risk control. The large cone course has 5 stations representing real world scenarios for drivers to test their skills driving the fire engine and larger fire truck.

While it isn’t official yet, the City of Corbin’s fire rating is expected to decrease in the near future, which should lower the fire insurance races for city residents.

We have just cleared the scene of a single vehicle collision on South Main St. Also responding were Corbin Police Department. No injuries reported.

Saturday evening Corbin firefighters responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 770. Also responding were Corbin Police Department, London-Laurel Rescue Squad, and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.

This week Corbin Fire Department completed its hiring process with the addition of two full-time firefighters to fill vacancies. We are pleased to welcome Firefighter Caleb Hester and Firefighter Brayden Hinkle.

Also being added to our roster as part-time firefighters are Jacob Hoskins and Felipe Patiño.

Promotions included Firefighter Isaac Napier to Lieutenant, Firefighter Nathan Kirby to Public Affairs Officer, and Lieutenant Tyler Tye to Captain. Congratulations!
